Hey, we gave you one of Canada's greatest assets, didn't we? We gave you Tom Green - Canada's greatest export.

(Man, were WE glad to get rid of THAT loser!)

My bum is on your truck, my bum is on your truck. Look at me. My bum is on your truck.

Take him back!!

Nope, you are stuck with him now!

As for Trailvoy, I continue to read and occasionally respond on there because my loyalty is to the community of owners. There were many people who helped me when i was a new owner and I simply want to pass that on.

But most of those great folks are now over here, and it appears trying to help certain people in Trailvoy is going to be like banging my head against the wall. For some reason, people there don't even want to listen to advice anymore.

Maybe I should change my name to GM Tech and advise everyone to change out their complete wiring harness with every oil change?

I assume you all realize I was kidding? I figured the "Canadian Bacon" references would make that obvious? That is actually a Michael Moore movie...I am not a fan of his politics (rich guy trying to be "down with it")! But I think the movie is funny...that is how I feel about politics these days....I care not what they say....as in the end....it is all bs....and I like some humor with my bs please!

Besides....think of all those fine Canadian ladies....Pam Anderson comes to mind. And I love hockey and lacrosse too (National Sport of Canada). Not so much the Canadian Football though...what is up with that? Let me guess....I am about to get junked by rabid Argos fans?

I knew you weren't serious. My response was a line from an anti-VS video posted in another thread.

I've been occasionally checking threads over there and have come to the conclusion that there a few sincere newbies, but a lot posts are from shills attempting to keep the site alive. For example; people who consistently seem to ignore everything they are told and seem to want to keep the thread going rather than actually follow any solid advice (like the one where you berated the guy with the perceived PCM issue); members with 6 or 7 total posts to their credit who resurrect 6 month and older older posts that they started, saying they still have the same issue when the fix was easy and cheap to begin with (come on, really? VS thinks we're that stupid? :rotfl:), etc.

I get that you're trying to be a good helper but I'm thinking you're helping the site owners more by keeping traffic alive. As the saying goes, "build it and they will come". Well, the community is the same, its just moved to a new location. The few stragglers will find us, and even more so when TV is completely abandoned.

The feeling from a former(?) VS employee in that thread I linked a few pages ago was basically "You'll get new regulars to replace the ones that left." The tone of that poster throughout the thread suggested he viewed forum users as a commodity. I suspect this is the general outlook at VS.

Support the site if you wish, but realize they most likely view you as livestock.

Users *are* a commodity in that sense. Losing 500 members doesn't mean much when you have 99K "members". Except we're the active ones and they're left with the needy noobs. When noobs start answering noobish questions from other noobs, the community changes its nature. Discerning new members will see that and keep looking for the active, thriving community, which we know is here.

I like the comment about how that thread has served its purpose... I would agree.

Most of the members that were on the fence about whether or not we (the old staff) were in the wrong, or lying, can see what we were up against. He has proven our point over and over. The best part is that while some of the old members and staff really are trolling over there under shill accounts, its the members that have been around and are NOT shills that are offering their uncensored opinions.

Because of how we were forced to enforce rules and policies that we didn't agree with, I can sympathize for Stew, but ONLY if he truly disagrees with the spiel that he has been pushing. Where I lost all respect and sympathy for him was when he called us liars, and then started blaming us for their fuck up. He is right when he says that site isn't going anywhere... but I think he has his context messed up.

Having said this, I think we should move on. Unless VerticalScope wants to go for round two of their attempt to scare us away, I have no interest in having to even think about them. Getting this thread to a point where it can be closed will bring us one step closer to that goal. We should expect member suggestions to help us make this place what we all want and need, and you should also expect to see more features, tools, and resources popping up as time goes on. Please understand that I have a full time job and I also run (technical aspect) another very large, unrelated, forum. I am trying my best to keep up and prove that we are serious about providing for the community, and Ghoster has been learning the ropes too, so whatever you see that is wrong or incorrect, he did it

Don't feel like you will be shunned if you visit and sign in over there, that is your choice. Now, if you become a staff member for VS, that is a different story!

I think we should move on as well. We all came to the dark side.. best things about this place besides the chance for new beginnings, is the wealth of experienced info.. the amazingly beautiful ladies.. and the sweet rides.

And we have cookies.

But I'm still waiting for the jelly donuts.

Ghoster is not letting me rest... he has too many ideas and requests that ALL NEED TO BE DONE NOW!!!

I think I am going to pull a VS and just not respond to his requests :poke:

I made my goodbye post last night, so I've "officially" moved on.

I've been putting in lot of time getting some things together that I think will benefit many members. This site popped up kind of unexpectedly, so it's going to take some time to get everything in order.

Also, about Tom Green, the crotch game was the funniest one. Crotch, Crotch, Crotch.

Agreed. The New, Gentler, Kinder Roadie (tm) only applies here. VS minions should expect to be shunned at meets, receive porn spam from 92 different countries, and have the full attention of my Flying Money Squad.

Why can I see that happening? :rotfl:

We have "The New, Gentler, Kinder Roadie (tm)" and his shiny new ban hammer...

I don't know what your screenshot showed, but that is not a good idea right now. Please keep in mind that VS would love nothing more than to take a member's misunderstanding of the copyright laws and turn it into a legal battle with the owners of this site.

Please don't give them the fuel they are looking for.

Thought you might be interested in what I sent to Stew. He has closed down the thread discussing the issues between his site and this one. He said to PM him if you had anything more to say.

Never one to pass an opportunity by, I sent him a PM. Here it is.

Stew

I don't have a dog in this fight. I got a lot from Trailvoy, and I contributed a lot of my knowledge in return. No money, just knowledge.

I knew nothing about what was brewing, and in fact had been largely away from the site due to other matters that consumed my free time. But I must say that on those occasions I did return, I disliked the ever more intrusive advertising. I disliked it a lot.

I also disliked the slow response time of the site. That was annoying.

And, talk about annoying, the "20 second rule" royally bothered me every time it bit me. I did not abuse the site, and that rule frustrated what I considered to be legitimate movements around the site.

Yes, I gained a lot of information and knowledge from this site, but the largest source of that information and knowlege has now left.

If you want to fish, you don't go to the desert. I will maintain my account on Trailvoy, but I must tell you that my first stop when I have a problem involving my TB will be GMT Nation, because that is where the experts are.

I wish you luck and success with the site. I bear you no ill will. But you did not build a better mousetrap, and the world, me included, will no longer beat a path to your door.

Apparently I didn't get on their nerves too bad since I am not banned nor on global ignore (even though I said my piece on more than one occasion and they deleted my posts).

I removed my bookmark link to there. I'll probably only pop over there for the occasional lookup of some past thread or info that I need or to satisfy some curiosity.
