Hello All, and hoping for some guidance.
RE: Replacing charcoal cloth (no airbags) 2008 Trailblazer LT seats with 2-tone leather 2002 TrailBlazer LTZ (airbag) seats.
I found some gorgeous and nearly-new-looking 2002 TrailBlazer 2-tone leather seats. I nabbed them at the local Wrench-A-Part salvage yard for a song too. These 2002 LTZ seats have side air-bags built into them, and my 2008 TrailBlazer LT has roof pillar bags, not inside the seats.
I’m SURE someone has done a seat-swap like this, wanting leather in a cloth-equipped truck. I really only want the 8-way power seat position motors and back air bladders to work. I’m not planning on using heat or memory-seat features (my '08 LT does not have provisions for these in the door panels), and I would really prefer not to hook up those airbags inside these new seats. I also do not want an airbag idiot light to come on (or to mess anything else up).
Does anyone have instructions to do this swap/wiring/ect? My 2008 LT has a power cloth driver’s seat and manual cloth passenger seat, with no internal airbags, but looking under the cloth seats, even the manual passenger seat seems to have a lot of wiring and a relay box of some kind mounted under there.
Oh and I've already swapped a compass/temp rear-view mirror, so no longer have the "passenger airbag off/on" mirror in my '08, so that is not a concern.
Little help? My wife is thrilled about these new leather seats, it’s her daily-driver truck, and I want to install these for her
, but want to do it right….and airbags scare me! Ha!
Thanks in advance!
