Hello All, and hoping for some guidance.

RE: Replacing charcoal cloth (no airbags) 2008 Trailblazer LT seats with 2-tone leather 2002 TrailBlazer LTZ (airbag) seats.

I found some gorgeous and nearly-new-looking 2002 TrailBlazer 2-tone leather seats. I nabbed them at the local Wrench-A-Part salvage yard for a song too. These 2002 LTZ seats have side air-bags built into them, and my 2008 TrailBlazer LT has roof pillar bags, not inside the seats.

I’m SURE someone has done a seat-swap like this, wanting leather in a cloth-equipped truck. I really only want the 8-way power seat position motors and back air bladders to work. I’m not planning on using heat or memory-seat features (my '08 LT does not have provisions for these in the door panels), and I would really prefer not to hook up those airbags inside these new seats. I also do not want an airbag idiot light to come on (or to mess anything else up).

Does anyone have instructions to do this swap/wiring/ect? My 2008 LT has a power cloth driver’s seat and manual cloth passenger seat, with no internal airbags, but looking under the cloth seats, even the manual passenger seat seems to have a lot of wiring and a relay box of some kind mounted under there.

Oh and I've already swapped a compass/temp rear-view mirror, so no longer have the "passenger airbag off/on" mirror in my '08, so that is not a concern.

Little help? My wife is thrilled about these new leather seats, it’s her daily-driver truck, and I want to install these for her

, but want to do it right….and airbags scare me! Ha!

Thanks in advance!

There has been a handful, so I'm sure someone will chime in or perhaps link you to a thread you can get more info on. You could look on the old site (which we don't name....), maybe you'll find some answers.

Hopefully someone will chime in with info. I'd really like to install these seats, but don't want to dive into this without some guidance. This is my wife's daily commuter.

Here's the matching door panels I also pulled, and the center arm rest too. Want to hopefully tie it all together.

Great score on the seats and panels. They really look well maintained coming out of an 02.

I do know @Gerbil21 did a seat swap but it was only the seat skins. It might of been on his brother build thread let me do some searching myself.

Some issues I can think of:
- The passenger airbag will not fire in a collision without that seat sensor working, hence the reason for that "airbag on/off" light in the mirror. And the airbag light will be on in the dash.
- Possible wiring and/or connector differences between years
- I can GUARANTEE that the 2008 seat belts will not buckle into the 2002 buckles and vice-versa. You will need the 2008 buckles in the rear seats to work with your rear pillar mounted belts.

You can ignore the seat mounted airbag wiring but that thing with the passenger seat sensor will be a problem. There may also be one for the driver for the weight (determines how strong the bag should fire). If there is a yellow plug going into your current seat, then there is a seat sensor. Hope you also cut the wiring pigtail from the donor truck just in case for the electricals.
