:rotfl:

No offense taken. I am open minded. I have owned a Ford (93 Thunderbird), Honda (Civic), and now a Chevy. Did I mention that my 93 Ford had an electrical fire in the engine bay and was totaled. This is while the engine was off sitting the parking lot

Ever since then, I vowed to never own a Ford again. I do like the Mustang though, but that is it.

My wife has a 2003 F-150 pushing 237,000 miles and we have had minimal issues with it over the last decade. Original engine and transmission, no rebuilds (Knocking on wood hard). All car manufacturers have their issues and recalls.

What was Taylor Via's comments

They've all had their good and bad days.

Believe me, if Mitsubishi made something that was comparable to my truck in size, capability and price, I would have gone after it. I've owned 3 Mitsubishi cars. The lowest mileage I had was about 298,000 miles when it got hit. I had an 87 Mirage 4 door (like the Dodge Colt). New England winters and I was a volunteer firefighter. Got 400,000 miles from that thing and then sold it. The one that got hit, a 2000 Galant, got hit from the back. I was stopped, he was doing over 70. Lifted me in the air, I spun, hit the center divide with the side of the car, spun, hit the center divide with the other side of the car, spun, he hit me again, and finally stopped. When I went to clean it out, all 4 doors opened without issue. I thanked God for the education he gave the Mitsubishi engineers.

I've had 6 Fords, 1 Chrysler, a Buick, a Mazda, a BMW, a Pontiac, a Chevy, 3 Mitsubishis, and 1 GMC. One of the Fords was a 99 Taurus. Bought it used with 80K on the odometer. Never a problem with it. Just got tired of the boring-ness of it. The BMW was great when it ran. The Chrysler was the flagship of their fleet at the time, the Chrysler LHS. Looked nice. All the creature comforts. But the damn thing broke down on me too many times. Tranny needed a rebuild at 50K. And again at 58K. Power window issues. Sunroof fell out, while cruising down the highway. Suspension issues. Fuel system issues. My sister had the same car, 2 or 3 years newer. She had almost the same problems.

We're here because most of us like our GMTs. But most of us have had other favorites over the years.

What I was thrilled about was that everything seems to be spelled correctly. Guess it's not a "people of walmart" pic.

And my GM is rolling just fine with 200k miles.

I still think GM is just catching up on old recalls that should have happened years ago and old GM just swept under the rug. Bet it wouldn't be out of the ordinary if averaged across the years.

It's been known to happen when spacers and/or wheel adapters are used, and the original studs are left too long.
Or the lugs weren't torqued right.

I only ever had all lugs sheer when a I ran a Detroit locker and Swampers on pavement. Luckily I was only going about 8 mph when the rear driver tire passed me...

Hahaha I'm not sure how that even happens, the package had been completely opened then taped half way shut. I guess whoever put it back on the shelf has no intelligence towards vehicles.

I'm glad you added "towards vehicles." I used to be very irritated with Walmart employees. But it's not the employees. It's management and corporate management who pay them poverty wages, little or no benefits, and not enough hours to even feed themselves. At this point the only time I shop at Walmart is when I plan to return the item. Picked up a laptop while waiting for mine to be shipped then returned it. Needed extra jackstands, didn't need them for long. Other than using their policies against them I'm very anti-Walmart. I'm tired of my tax money paying for corporate welfare.

Its not just walmart, there are other companies that will work their employees 31 hours or less. That way they are considered part time and do not have to worry about paying benefits. My manager at Target would freak out when I worked over 31 hours. I also got yelled out for working through my breaks. Typically we had to clock out for (2) 15 min breaks and (1) 30 min lunch. Even though we lost an hour to breaks, we would only get scheduled for 7-8 hour shifts.

Hell this was in the late 1990's/early 2000's. I can only imagine it is worse now. Back then I was only making $6.25 an hour. I was in high school and living at home and only had a car payment and cell phone bill so it worked for me. If I was on my own and/or had a family, there is no way you could survive.

IMO, Walmart (or most any retail store for that matter) isn't a career job to live off of. Entry level jobs for HS/college kids, retirees who still want to have some form of employment after retirement or supplement their pensions/social security with a little extra, etc. The exception would be management (probably upper level more so).

If you're really trying to live off of a minimum wage retail job, you're doing it wrong.

Walmart is the largest employer by number of people in the US other than the US government.

While it might be nice to just have those demographics working at Walmart, Target, Subway, Kwikee Mart, Starbucks, McDonalds, Burger King, KFC, 7-Eleven, Lucky's, A&P, AMC Theaters, Joe's Lawn Mowing, Pete's Car Wash, Jane's Laundry, Bettie's Breakfast, and more - there are just too many businesses that pay minimum wage because it's the prevailing wage. And we still need these jobs. Before President Reagan, the middle class were defined as a family of 4 supported by one wage earner. During his tenure, it became 2 wage earners. In the preceding years, it became 2 person household with 2 wage earners. If you had kids, you were headed to the poor side.
