Lol :rapsberry: Out of the last 20 I ordered (10blue, 10white) one white and two blue ones are flickering so I ordered 10/10 again, all ten of the white will be going in the TB domes and the blue is to replace faulty ones in the Mustang cluster.
Ended up getting the 5630 panels (5 for $14 from USA) with 24 chips each. Can't decide if I wanna put two in the cargo light or not..will definitely be putting two in the Mustang dome though and maybe one in the trunk.
If I have one left over it's going in my brothers 96 z71. He wasn't impressed trying my 5 chip 5050 festoon from the Mustang in his dome light, I think he'll like the 5630's though.

I have ordered a lot of LEDs on eBay and in bulk I have only had one go out so far in 4-5 months.
That's the route I took as well, although it's been 5 years, I've had a handful go out. One in the memo module has been flickering for a couple of weeks now, and the one in the dome light override button started flickering a couple days ago. Gonna have to pull those and replace at some point when I'm not lazy.BlazingTrails said:

I've noticed for a little while when I first turn on my lights or hit unlock at night that my left license plate LED doesn't turn on, but after power has been on for a little bit it comes on. Well, tonight same as usual, except when I got home and got out at teh end of my drive to check my mailbox (like an idiot) I noticed the left LED on and the right one was dark! Go figure.

Yeah, more than likely the sockets are all corroded horribly knowing my truck. I'll have to check them when it isn't subzero outside.

With all these threads discussing Cree VS HID's, I'm wondering if there is just a bright a$$ headlight on the market that you don't need to kill the DRL's? I understand the reasoning for it, and wouldn't mind the lower power if there is some thing out there that's kind of a middle ground, where it's straight up plug n play.

Anything other than halogen style bulb and drl has to disappear. In other words, if it has a ballast or voltage regulator, its a no go in a stock TB.
HIDs beat LEDs any day, btw.
Also, HIRs require tab trimming before they'll work, not pnp.

Because, why would anyone play with a couple wires for ten minutes to be able to upgrade lighting?
I guess it's the fear of poking one wire (for cap mod) that has him against it.

Maybe he just likes DRLs? I know a couple of people that will not disable them.

Bingo! I like my DRLs. Maybe I'm wrong here but, it seems as if you need to disable the auto headlights as well. Which is one thing that I love the most about our rigs.

I did the capacitor mod to have my DRLs run at 100% all the time after putting hids in. I can turn of the DRLs when I want. Even when I turn off the DRLs my auto lights still turn on when it gets dark enough. Everything works exactly the same as before except for the fact my DRLs are running at full power now all the time.

I have my drl killed, and besides drl not coming on when in gear and headlights not coming on when locking/unlocking doors(park lights do all come on though)... Everything works the way they should. Auto headlights come on when it gets dark, then of course with the switch everything works like factory.SnowBlazer said:

So a couple more questions...are HIDs are plug n play one I do something with the DRLs? Just pop Em in with no wiring?

It's recommended to use a relay harness with hids, so the hids get their power directly from the battery instead of through the headlight harnesses n plugs. They are pretty simple to install. Other than the relay harness they are plug n play.SnowBlazer said:

I connected my HID harness to the infamous "red wire" bolt for its power. Nice and easy.
So went to the scrapyard today with my bud to look for GMT360 parts for me & Foxbody Stang parts for him. Pretty much every TB/Voy was ransacked for things you'd expect. Did find some things I may go back for to sell on here or Ebay
I can't describe how stoked I was to spot a mirror with a turn signal only to have my dreams crushed once I got on the other side of that Voy...

Capote, can you please see if any of these have a engine bay light? Mine's broke...harnes is broken so I'm in need of the harness with 6" of wires.
