Support Group/Thread For Mod Addiction or MA

Depends man

Like I told you when I was over, I like some TBSS's, others I think look awkward

That has a lot to do with it

SS sit lower 1 inch factory.

I like the exhaust cutouts but without the step cutout I think it looks more crossover than SUV. Just not a fan.

Like the Ford Flex Kyle?

Idk what to mod

The mods I wanna do require me to spend $$$

Yup, going strong. Thinking of upgrading my LED tails to something else

Yeah bro, that's the bulb I told you about [emoji106]

LEDs in stock tails is busch league :raspberry:
No it's not lol, why pay for an LED tail assembly when you can achieve the same look with LED bulbs [emoji12]

You cannot make stock tails look like IPCW tails by using an LED bulb..lol. The IPCW's have a grid/array of LEDs plus a different design.

But, I understand the point of wanting to keep the stock bubble-like tails, I like them too.

Not talking about those ones, there's an aftermarket tail identical to the stock, except it already has LEDs

I know about those too, just thought Brandon was talking about IPCW's lol. Even then those still have a big grid of LEDs inside that can't be accomplished with a bulb. Those 5-pronged star shaped bulbs are close though.

I don't like those type of LED tails, they look awful IMO

I just don't like the tails they offer for our TB

Oh man I've seen these before, I would love do this minus the LED strip on the side, and arrange the LEDs in the middle of the Halo ring differently

Yeah that and they are one off custom tails. I like things that you cannot just buy off of the shelf which is why I love my headlight retro.

I can agree with that. I wish I could justify spending $500+ on headlights......
Yeah man I know what you mean, I spent around $800 total. Just like my SS wheels, I decided what I wanted, saved, and searched for the best deal.

If you do not do the retro yourself, from my searching it appears that Smitty5050 has the best prices. Plus, his price includes a new set of headlights. $300 of the total $800 was just for new headlights

The ones I have look like stock lights (same style lens) but the guts are LED. I like them. Plus they don't cost as much as some of the others out there either. Brighter than stock too.

Has anybody opened the tails and put led boards in them before? Seems a lot easier than projector retros in the head lights.
See above - can get them pre-made already. Although that custom job looks pretty sweet.

Looks like those would be very easy to make. It look like you need some led reverse lights

I got these they are pretty damn bright. 96 SMD LED's
I found the LEDs that have a projector lens on the end do a good job in my reverse lights. Well until I tinted the tails with night shade.

On my aftermarket tails, the reverse light housing is a matte finish versus a chrome finish which would help.

My reverse bulb base on these tails is an 1156 instead of a 3157.

Also have projector-ended leds in my reverse lights on the stang and TB, they're great but there is better  mine cost $15 a pair, if you are willing to spend $30+ there's much better ones with (as I've called them recently) bubble-style chips like what's in cree flashlights and they're hella bright.

Pic of what mine look like:
