On the bi-xenon bulbs there are solenoids on the bulb base that moves it in out. All you have to do is disconnect that wire to each bulb. Why do you have those on a trailblazer?
The projector is bi-xenon not the HID bulbs. The output of the D2S bulb never changes, only the cutoff shield inside of the projector. The base I use is D2S. I do have 9004 HIDs in the wife's F150 which act in the way you described.

David, you have D2S bulbs, with those I thought that there is no high beam function with them. Just the shield moves to allow the light to go everywhere.
Correct. I am talking about the solenoid engaging to move the cutoff shielf forward within the projector to allow more light through in hi beam mode.

My thought was that with the diode mod, when I engage the hi beams, my D2S HID bulb will stay on, but the solenoid will not engage. I grabbed some spare 18 AWG and some IN4001 diodes from work. I will just try it out and see what happens. If it works, I am definitely going to have to invest in some 9005 Cree LEDs.

The mod bug has been coming on strong lately. Carlton woke it up again.. I think we have found a fix for the HIDs not staying on when the solenoid engages in the projector on hi beam mode. Going to try his diode mod and possibly add the fog lights in for the 6 hi.

Hi beam housing is empty currently. Mod bug is nudging me to contact Kevin and get a set of the 9005 Cree LEDs.
Do it!

I also have/had some 9004 bi-xenons in a Ford.. I think they only provide "high beam" light output in round-square housings because in the oblong Mustang housings they would just shine light lower when on high beam. Which would be why I opted for fixed position 9004s when I changed colors.

I personally think the tube fin design is better because it is lighter and has better temp transfer. The bar plate design has more surface area and some say that will cool better. Bottom line they both work, one is much more affordable.

The choice is yours.
Yeah by the video reviews of each i've come to the conclusion that no matter what type you use, they both work great.

You cut it out or gutted it...Just said delete.

I read build threads not profiles generally. Most profiles either dont get updated or are not even filled out.

I believe you'll need a very specific 'black market' tune for that 'super hi-flow' catalyic converter mod.. may want to wait on the tune til the cat is 'flyin high and flowin free'
