Wow that's ridiculous. Essentially they milk trailvoy for whatever they can then.
They not only lie to and milk trailvoy's members, they lie to and milk the advertisers with inflated member statistics. That borders on criminality.

How they sleep at night I'll never understand.

All explained here:
http://gmtnation.com/f18/trailvoy-verticalscope-scamming-members-advertisers-1609/

They have been reported to the BBB for theft of fees:
http://www.ripoffreport.com/r/Verti...heft-of-Money-Misrepresentation-of-Mem-769099

Discussed in an admin forum about their reprehensible business practices:
http://www.theadminzone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=39544

SaabCentral got borged. Discussed on the spinoff site (with 5000 members!):
http://saabworld.net/f238/long-story-about-automotive-forums-1427/

Just for fun, go to trailvoy and try to post something about tirerack. They REWRITE the word to link to one of their ad partners instead. You cannot discuss gmtnation or tirerack on their servers. Of course the US 1st Amendment doesn't apply, but people *think* it should.

Search terms because we get indexed very frequently now we're a year and a half old: Vertical Scope, Scam, Liars, Cheats, Rob Laidlaw Sucks Donkey Balls,

Holy Moly. That is shitty. I mean, I guess you could attribute part of the problem to the previous owners selling to vertical scope in the first place, but its like a dictatorship now, tragic

Maybe they are changing the Tire Rack stuff manually? They haven't touched the title or my link either (yet)...

I just signed up here, same user name as TrailVoy. Signed up there maybe a week ago.

This seems to be the best spot!

That's about how long it took me.

I had wondered what was up, over there. It'd seemed to me that the response times were kind of high and the volumes were kind of low for a site of that nature, covering products that popular. Then I ran across a post referring to this site and found out why.

Poor bastards indeed. Here's some site stats:

Total posts 305,061
Total topics 30,190
Total members 30,348

Five mods, two admins including the Vertical Scope overlord Cayne. Two highest posting mods have only 7000 posts. Other mods have between 830 and 2600 posts. Mods are relatively recent joiners. Hmmm, I'm guessing there was an exodus like there was at so many other sites after VS bought 'em.

Lying about Tapatalk is just stupid. Nobody can be that unaware of what VS is doing to grub more $$ out of the membership. Nobody over there seems to have figured out that the free version of the Autoguide app has a spam signature that can't be suppressed.

We certainly would never promote such an activity...but what you do with your computer is your business.

One of the 7000+ post moderator spans pre and post VS. I'm a little surprised he's still there. Nice guy, I've had a few off the forum chats with him. Even asked for a few more pics of a mod he did and they were posted within an hour.

I haven't looked much there in a while but I plan to. His activity level will tell me a lot.

My favourite local site was just sold to VS. In the announcement thread, people keep saying "I hope..." Which causes me to search on VS some more. Every search seems to turn up almost overwhelmingly negative comments, which leaves me not with a warm, fuzzy feeling :sadcry:

This thread is about the worst (or "best," depending on one's perspective) I've seen: VerticalScope - Admin Zone Forums

I'd post that in the thread on the site just bought, but I don't care to get the boot, just yet.

What's the site? VS is now Borging local or regional forums now?

When VS buys a forum, consider it a pot of water they are starting to turn up the heat to boil the frogs. At what exact temp will a relatively aware frog jump out? Or are they numbnutz who can't extrapolate more than ten seconds into the future and see how boffed they are and why they have been put into that pot?

He's drunk deeply of the VS Kool-aid, then. Defending their indefensible policies. Ignoring the temperature of the pot he's in.

"This thread should not be used to start a negative attitude. We will not keep kicking this ant pile.

-Autoguide has an app, free and paid.

-You have a computer, which the builder of this site designed the site for almost exclusively on purpose.

-You can also use a mobile browser.

The options to access this place are fairly vast IMO. Please do not get on tangents on topics that do not even matter. Its smart business to switch your site into a "build" app vs leaving it on Tapatalk. If you were in the money spending shoes, you would do it too if you looked at the dollars and cents aspect.

That said, stay positive here...the negativity is not tolerated. "

Can't criticize the overlords, eh? Been there, left there, happy here.

The autoguide app, at least when I tried it, was terrible. It was slow and crashed all the time. Had ads of course. And I didn't like the theming.

I even made contact with the developer and was assured the bugs were not present in the paid version, for my phone.

There was no way in hell i was going pay for the ad free version.

Its easier than actually knowing an answer. Haven't looked back there since I linked to the thread about the loss of Tap-a-Talk.

A "Free Credit Report" spammer showed up this morning, and managed to get off 14 (!) spams without being molested AT ALL in 6 hours.

Heck, when we were on duty over there, spammers wouldn't last to the SECOND post, and their lifetime was measured in mere minutes.

Here, their email addresses and posting IPs are checked against a data base of known spammers, and they don't even get to set up an account most of the time. I guess Vertical Scope doesn't care about spammers, because they increase the post count and inflate the membership numbers, so they probably CELEBRATE more spammer members. Membership satisfaction we already know is of no consequence to VS.

Following on the heels of the ill-fated GM Customer Svc social media reps, whose useless advice and non-responsive answers to customer questions was legendary, OnStar looks like it's sending its own social media flacks into the site:

Introducing the New Forum Social Customer Service Team for OnStar - Chevy TrailBlazer, TrailBlazer SS and GMC Envoy Forum

If they come here, I'm going to have a lively discussion with them about how poorly received the GM flacks were and how they better have good answers and not platitudes for OUR members.

Understood. Your loyalty is no longer in question, and your legacy here is squeaky clean. And when you get your Tahoe, stick around and work with Ray to build up our Tahoe section. Just whatever you do don't relocate to a Tahoe forum that's owned by Vertical Scope. Friends don't let friends support VS.
