Hi Guys,
The Transmission Cooler Lines rusted out and instead of going through the agony of fitting new hard lines I choose an alternate route.
I installed some Russell Hose and Hose Ends which made the job much easier and it looks like a million bucks.
Here's what I did:
- Cut the lines at the transmission and near where they enter the radiator
- Insert a 3/8" Hard Line x 6AN Male Compression Fitting at 4 locations on the hard lines
- Measure and make up 3 lengths of #6 Stainless Braided Hose with
1 short piece with 2 - 6AN Straight Female Hose Ends
2 longer pieces with 2 - 6AN 90 degree Female Hose Ends and 2-6AN Straight Male Hose Ends
- Run the lines through the round holes in the chassis and Don't forget which line goes where!
- Tighten up all the fittings and top up the transmission with fluid
As you can see one hose could have been a little longer at the radiator but everything still works fine.
The photos should give you a better idea of what I actually did.
Good luck,
Peter
