Don't know. But at only using less than a quart every 10k miles that's pretty good sign the rings and cylinder walls are still in good shape.

But like I said, maybe not a good idea. But then, I was aiming for at least 250k miles on mine until the rust became a massive issue, so if I got a nonrusty 2002 shell for say $1500 or less, and now I drive only 10k a year vs the 30k I was doing, so that $1500 could get me another 4-5 years out of this power train perhaps...

Hey now, that's mean

Missed the gas price convo but 87 gas in the next town over was $2.95 a couple days ago and here locally it dropped to $2.99 today and that store has a "rewards" card that gives you 3 cents off.

Thats cheap. Have not seen those prices since I was in college.

The local Martin's grocery here offers $0.10 off per gallon for every $100 you spend at the grocery. It is over a 6 week period. One time we had a $1.00 off per gallon, somehwere around $2.35.

Thats cheap too. From all the traveling I have done up and down the Easr coast, it appears as you head south, the cheaper the gas prices are. Even when I headed out to Nebraska, gas was only $3.15.

I was assuming a rolling chassis would have been more $$ and usually think of 20K miles/year. Dang, if you can get that price for 4 more years go for it. And rustproof it.

There's a store here that does that, Winn Dixie, which is like the Alabama version of Kroger's. Winn Dixie is partnered with Shell and gives you 5 cents per $50 you spend. Also, we can go from Alabama to Kentucky and there's only about a 20 cent difference. Georgia always has the cheapest though at a pilot station.

I am familiar with Winn Dixie. Thats all we had around us when I use to live in Florida. We also had Publix.

My dad use to be an over the road truck driver for Winn Dixie for years before moving to Ohio.

It very well could be more than that, don't really know. But given I've seen some high mileage running TBs going for $2500-3000 a broke down one for $1500 might not be impossible. Especially if I got a 2WD model and just shoved my 4x4 computer and such in it.

Dunno... We'll see.

My 200k mile engine runs amazing well still, I've been very impressed with it.

Sometimes I think of maybe getting another (NON RUSTY) 2002 TB that has a blown engine/trans for dirt cheap and just plopping mine into it. Maybe freshening the engine up a bit before doing so (new gaskets, inspect/replace bearings if they are showing any signs of wear, etc). Probably crazy and bad idea... maybe.
I guess you need to come west to find a cleaner one.
