This post whore is checking in .

We got snow coming down here in central IN.

I need a garage big enough to get my truck in. This weather sucks, My truck is in desperate need of these new parts but it is not fun to work in the snow and cold weather.

I feel ya. It would be nice to have something I can park in AND open my damn doors in. I think my garage was built to house everything smaller than a Chevette. :hissyfit:

At least you can pull in... Some of us are just too tall, I might squeeze in without the basket up there.

Without my basket and crossbars, I can squeeze in a standard 7 foot door. My parking garage is 6' 10 clearance and I can use it without the goodies up top.

My garage opens to about 6' 8" so it is a tight squeeze with the driveway angle. If the parking garage is listed 6' 8" or taller I can get in, barely.

Except the truck is down with a gimpy wheel bearing and the new one is not getting put on in this cold.

Is that with or without your basket? I had to adjust my garage door so it would fully go up, originally when we got the house it was set to stay about 3 inches from all the way up.

I have to pull my basket and lights soon anyway to put the new cross bars on. I will have to give the garage a shot then and see if I can get it in!

I think some members here need taller garages.

Hope you have a tall garage :) I pulled into the garage at my parents' house about year ago at stock height, with a tire in the roof rack, and nailed the garage door with the tire. Didn't damage the door at all, but ripped up one of the bars on the roof rack.

Just threw the spare back up there, but I don't fit in many garages anymore as it is anyway.

I really thought after the body lift I was going to have to let the air out of the tires to get it out...

I am used to it though. My Burban drawfs my TB and it doesnt really fit anywhere.

I will do 10 foot doors when I build though.

I am still surprized that I didn't screw up one of my roof lights.

Consider yourself lucky.

When I purchased my home the previous home owner hit the garage door at the bottom while backing out too quickly with a lifted Tahoe on the day before we took ownership.

They tried to claim that it was like that during the final inspection. I took pictures that had date stamps.

We got two new insulated garage doors.

Sorry to hear about the door, but great that you took pictures and were able to get the damage repaired.

My theory when I did the walk through was that worst case scenario that the PO would do something or take something. So I took alot of pictures.

But I guess my big point is that with a lifted truck or even our trucks with racks on them you have to watch when driving into and backing out of the garage.

Too easy to get in the truck hit the garage opener and then back up when you don't see it but it is still not all the way up.

I figure, it won't matter how wide or tall the garage is...

There will always be some dork out there who just can't figure it out.
