Idling better?

Btw, that bitch was filthy lol. Needed cleaning.
FYI boys, as I was going through updates for my TB in the Tech2 and TIS2000 I notice that there is an update for our PCM that will fix any idle problem.
So if you have problems with the idle, I could be that you need an update of the software in the PCM and not a cleaning of the tb.

No, his was definitely in need of a TB cleaning. His battery went bad then after he got it replaced he had the typical "it dies when I do _______" complaint. Always the TB if the battery has been disconnected and is followed by idling complaints. (maybe not always but 9.5 outta 10 times it is)

Also, what's the date on that update for the PCM's? I doubt that it's very recent considering there's only a small percentage of trailblazers that still have a warranty.

There is no date that I can remember on the update software, can check next time I hook up my car. But it has nothing to do with warranty, more like a TSB if customer complain about e.i rough idle tech can update the software to see if that fix the problem.
If GM have a updated program version for the PCM were it suppose to take care of any idle problem there have to been a lot of complaints in the past about idle issue on the TB.

My car is from 2002 and the PCM was never updated with this new software

My point about the warranty is, GM would have no liable reason to design updated software for a platform that's 6-13 years old with almost all of them out of warranty. At least that's what I think lol.

-forgot to add this: So, it's probably not a very recent update.

Yes you're probably right about it not being a recent update, but if one have idle issue this update could fix it (maybe).

My 02 has had all the GM updates done to it before I got it.
Not sure about the one I'm going to go look at :undecided: but whichever truck I end up buying will definitely be getting a PCMofNC tune

Yep. 07 LT fully loaded bought it from another member of ORTB back a few years. Never did what I wanted to with it so I resold it.

So are you going to have 2 TB's? If so, that's AWESOME!!
Short term. My current 02 will stick around for a little while yet, but sometime this year will be retired and parted out. The rust cancer is terminal and has been rotting the frame for some time and there are some pretty bad holes in it.
