Was it the stall's fault for sure, or a combination of stuff maybe? Defective part, broke partially due to added stress from higher stall, etc?

I don't remember any details on that.

He is pretty sure it was the stall. Created a metric shit ton of heat over the standard. I believe he is back to good with a regular converter and fresh rebuild.

I got over 8 (live DIC reading 11 for tank) towing with 3000+ lbs through the mountains when I raced it. Unless you are idling for a very long time too.
