Any reason why a lot prefer his inserts?

His are the ONLY inserts unless you want to build your own. You will not find them any where online. Plus, $50 is a good deal IMO.

Have you seen them? It's pretty obvious. He's got like 20 leds in a line 10 or so on front and 10 or so on rear compared to a dinky 5 chip pnp LED. Also, he can customize them anyway you want, colors, layouts, pretty much anything.

No, don't think anyone has came up with that yet. You'd have to custom program/design software for a controller. I'm sure it could be done if someone wanted to undertake the programming but it would require previous programming experience and equipment.

Yeah same here lol. Designing software/programming micro controllers is also outta my league. I'm also really cheap so a pnp Ebay bulb would be my choice lol.

Dorman parts are normally acceptable, right? Anybody know if their ignition switches work fine? I know some parts have to be OEM like cpas and such, just not sure about the ignition switch. Mine is taking a crap again, it's went out once before and it's been acting up lately, getting more frequent and need to replace it before our trip.

I have a few of these saved in my Ebay list, they would be used as bases for custom LED tails. The red lenses would get tossed out, and circular PCBs would be installed in the reflector bowls. Probably Niteshade that reflector on the side.
