have the famous clicking noise third row ext tb 06 need info on how to remove the panel i have searched hi and low for pics or a video and come up blank just dont want to break nothing trying to figure it out on my own need help any one
i know this is a actuator problem through research its a very common problem but no one has posted any pics or video i can find on how to correctly fix it i think i will be the first from what i can tell
I have never completely removed the panel but enough to access the rear HVAC unit. It`s a fairly simple affair, a few screws and undoing it from under another trim piece and you can move it out of the way enough to get to it.
If you wait long enough, the noise will eventually go away when the gears get completely worn away
ok do i need to remove the top panels aswell there is two one rear and one on the door also do i need to remove one of the third row seats it looks like i might have to
But yeah, wait it out man, it's a little early to decide that there is no one here to help you. I assure you that this is the best place to get help. Btw, Welcome to the Nation!!!
There is an Article on this site, showing the process. Can't explain why it didn't show up in a search.I used the magic Google phrase "trailblazer ext removing rear hvac panel site:gmtnation.com"
I don't have an EXT, but from reading things, I seem to remember the seat belt bolt are about the only fasteners that aren't simple pull-off clips. The seat belt bolt require Torx drivers, so if you don't have a good set, it's a good excuse to buy them now.
SWB is about the same, but there's no HVAC components back there. Just the Bose amplifier if you have that option. On the LWB, the Bose is under the left way-back panel.
Thanks for the help on this the only bolts were the seatbelt fasteners then the rest was clips except 5 phillips screws around the rear area 3 bottom 2 top orileys had the part thats fine now i have other issues gonna look for threads on the steering position sensor and low oil pressure sensor where they are and how to remove and replace i was agervated at this truc the last time i was on searched and searched for help ocd doesnt help either lol only had this truck 3 weeks
Watch out when you pull the actuator off. I broke one of the shafts on mine. They are just flimsly plastic. Fortunatly there was just enough of the shaft left for the actuator to still work. A lot of members have broken them clean off.
