04 envoy xuv - just rolled over 200k. Rebuilt transmission at 190k other minor repairs but runs as well as she did when I got her 7 years ago with 70k miles

My Envoy just reached 200k a few weeks ago. We had it since it had 11miles on it. It's got a few noises and creaks but still super reliable. Right now I'm just fighting with an a/c clutch issue but I hope to have that solved soon. I'd say the biggest headache it gave me was when the water pump went. Everything else was minor stuff.

03 Trailblazer 167,000 miles and wife's 05 Buick Rainier with 97,000.

Bought these two (both with the reliable 4.2, I-6 engine) around the same time with a plan. I've been a GM 350 guy (7 Chevy vans) all my life, Figured it was time to move up to the next generation engine, with better gas mileage. (Okay, I didn't gain a lot on the good-mileage goal ).

The plan was to learn this engine by repairs to either car, since everything's the same. Then when the same part goes bad on the other car, I'll know how to replace it. Ultimately, someday, one of the cars can be a DONOR parts car to the last surviving one.

2002 Chev Trailblazer 4.2 I6, 4x4, 286000 on the clock.

Other than normal service items like brakes and belts, I've done wheel bearings, tie rod ends, upper and lower ball joints, rear shocks.

Engine and transmission untouched and other that the familiar knock / valvetrain noise, all is working well.

105,XXX on my 04 Rainier 5.3. I have no worries about the engine but the transmission has always acted a little funky. 1-2 shift is a little harsh at times and sometimes will shudder. This only happens at part throttle though and I am working on trying to tune it out and it is a little better. Going to do a filter and fluid change along with installing a new accumulator piston and see what that does. Other than that, it's been a solid vehicle for the year I have owned it. Bought it with 89k on it.

02 TrailBlazer with 315,000 miles. Like others I have done little but routine maintenance.

How long can it keep going? I am starting to worry about having a major failure on the road. Thoughts?

Doug

Wow. I am impressed. Never seen a member post miles over 300,000 on a 360. Still have original engine and tranny? Anything rebuilt or major failures?

Engine is all original, only changed the spark plugs and water pump.

Tranny was overhauled at 100k. I believe it only needed a solenoid, but the shop insisted the clutches were shot - after it was all back together they called me to get authorization to change the solenoid.

changed the fuel pump at 275K because the steel output tube had rusted through. did the ball joints at about 200K.

did the brakes at 100K, 200K and 300K. Tires about every 75K. Gas mileage around town has been about 16, highway around 20 (once or twice got 23) for a life time average of 18 mpg.

It has been a great ride, and isn't done yet. I don't know when I can afford a replacement - all the options cost so much.

Based off what I recall them going for when we were shopping for ours, probably $4-7k but that's almost three years ago and in my area, not yours. Can't remember exactly what we paid for ours or the exact mileage but it was the cheapest TB within ~150 miles. SWB TB's were going for $1-3k more than what we paid for ours.
