Fuel pump access panel

Tried starting to cut out a access panel for the fuel pump although I think I started in the wrong spot. Could anyone point me in the right direction. I don't think this is where it is .

Maybe, it's an 03. Looks like it might be under the wire loom. Looks like it was pulled up in the pics that I saw on here. I'll drill a hole and take a look. I guess that's all I can do.

I'm with @Sparky on this one. Bite the bullet and drop it.

Dropping the tank isn't THAT bad... if the tank is empty you can drop it with very little effort. If it's full, you're going to want to empty it first... that may mean pumping it or syphoning it.

De-Fueling...? No Fooling...!!!

While this particular De-fueling Project involves working on my 1993 Chevrolet Camaro Z-28… the principle concerns are universal for all vehicles involving making any Fuel Tank as empty as possible when either replacing the entire tank… or when simply replacing the Fuel Pump under circumstances...

Yep. Drop it. I'm not a fan of cutting a hole where there's wires, fuel lines and a tank. Too much risk. And now you'll just be guessing where it is.

Very true. Will have to go that route if I have to. I never have money to fill it anyway so, that shouldn't be a problem. At least if I drop it I can use my angle grinder to cut the hole since I don't have access to a pneumatic nibbler. Will post back when I make some progress. Thanks guys.
