Aarkon's Build Thread

Taking huge chunks out of anything seems like a bad idea, unless it involves stuffing your face.

:undecided: I guess the only other alternative would be to seat the high beam projector further back in the bowl. I don't know how large the big rubber ring is that sits on the back, but that could possibly be modded. Or if you were up for it, ditch the threaded shaft method altogether, enlarge the reflector bowl opening, and go with the epoxy gum method to tack it in place during alignment, and JB weld on the back side.

If you really wanted to have a good time you could take the low beam pair of the MD2S 2.0s from the first set, and use those for the high beams, and put your other set of MD2S 3.0s in the low beams of the first set. But you know how I get with big modding ideas :bonk:

I did check the measurements on them and thought about cutting the backs but they are still to big unfortunately otherwise I would just mount them like I did the foglights. I did think about the other size projectors in the highs but I dont really care for two different sizes for quads I like the way mine look atm or that would have been an easy solution

Yeah, that's been a bit of a disappointment with every set of switchbacks I've bought, except for the strips so far. I bought a cheap set of bulbs that had 2 amber LEDs for every white one, hoped those might solve the issue, but they were AW style, and one of the bulbs was wired backwards internally :hopeless:

Well the amber and white are actually separate leds there are 10 smaller Amber and 20 larger white leds but I can live with them not being that bright and the company is already sending me a free replacement set so I can definitely use both sets. Im still waiting on those other ones I showed you too arrive and test

Got the other set of lights in and I am surprised how good they are. They are very bright and well built in a solid metal housing

I never saw them and asked two or three times about you posting some and then you posted a wall pic of the fogs. I could've missed them though.

I'm trying to reply to one particular post by clicking on quote but with no luck.
Aarkon in post #412 & # 414 I can see your angel eye halo ring, are they CCFL or LED and what size they are (diameter)?

Ya I thought the same thing when I turned them on idk if my order got screwed up or what kinda neat look though these projectors unfortunately dont have the option to remove the lenses

I don't remember what the shield assembly looks like on the 3.0s, so I dunno if you can take the solenoid off, and flip that stuff over. That definitely isn't right.

When one of my solenoids failed, TRS sent me a new solenoid and shield pretty quickly, so at least you know they will make it right.

Here's what I was talking about they are a pressed fit with no way to remove them without modification

:duh: Oh that's right, the 3.0s are riveted together. I've seen a lot of people complain about that. Well they sent you the wrong one, that's their fault, they should send you a new one, and then you can send the RHD one back.

Ya I checked all the others they are correct its only this one and go figure its the one I mounted but honestly it does make a better cut off and widens the side view range I actually like it alot

Its a different setup, but with the step going the other direction you will have to lower the driver's side projector a lot.

I probably wouldn't post on HIDP that you plan to run it that way, they like to flame and bash people a lot if you don't follow the crowd like a lemming. :hopeless:

Haha no I never post over there anyway I hate people who are full if themselves

Oh my Gawd. I love this thread. You all gave me great ideas! This Summer, maybe, I am going to ask you for the list of tools I'd need to learn and DIY. Or...pay you guys to make me some :undecided: .
Thats what we are all here for. We love helping each other out and create new ideas
