Yellow Engine code for thermostat

Well for the second time in 2 months the yellow engine light came on for no apparent reason.

The local dealer had the vehicle then for 2 days and could not find a positive problem. This time I was able to take the vehicle directly to him without turning it off, and the code was the same as previous. However, the vehicle appears to run withhout any difficulties.

My 2005 TB LS runs approximately at 205 degrees and has 48 K miles ... so what would you do?

We will need an actual code number to help.

Did the dealer say the problem was the thermostat?

As the t-stat ages it can open too fast or not close all the way.

That causes the engine to take longer than the PCM likes to heat up and throws a code.
