Started today not snowing, then it was snowing heavily, that turned into moderate snow and now it's being followed up with some light snow.

Snowing again. Real fine so we'll get the forecast 3 inches or more.

I practically had to use the 4x4 Sunday morning. It was a lot worse than they were calling for. They said 2 inches by mid afternoon, had 3+ by 9AM and at least another inch plus by noon. The plows weren't even out until later in the day.

Some grandpa pulled out right in front of me and I came awful darn close to hitting the guy  Then he proceeded to drive 10mph down the middle of the road so I couldn't even get around him (I had been doing 20)

For some reason I had forgotten to get my dash cam going during the morning trip. I had it going on my return trip early in the afternoon and took this still from the reel. There was no down-to-pavement tracks anywhere to be found in the morning. By this evening most of the roads were all cleaned up and clear aside from some side roads.

We're still locked in with alternating snow/cold days. Either it is -10F and windchills in the -30F range or it warms up to 10F and snows. Next week it is actually supposed to be at 30F. Sooner or later it has to start warming up a bit, but time will tell if we actually do. This morning, -12F with wind chill warnings -35F. Snow is blowing across roads pretty good again and the drifts on the sides of the roads are now 10-20 or more feet high. That makes the roads fill in rather rapidly. Also all powder snow this year due to the cold temps.

Brief Milwaukee, WI weather almanac:

63 continuous days with snow cover (9th worst winter on record) and we show no signs of any melt off for at least another 20 or more days.
32 days so far below zero -- a new winter record
Most lake ice on the total Great Lakes system in recorded history
Overall snowfall totals make this (so far -- we have a LOT of winter left to go and get the most snow totals late in winter when spring rains fall as snow!) the 10th worse winter on record. Milwaukee is 30" above normal.

And, that is for Milwaukee... Its weather is moderated by Lake Michigan. It is WORSE inland but the smaller cities don't always post weather almanac data.

Dash cams are a great idea.

:iagree: I use the DailyRoads Voyager app on my phone. Saw them review it on 5th Gear a while back and decided to try it, since it's free. Also helps that my dash mount for the phone sits just high enough for it to display properly, since the phone has to be in landscape position to record right. :hopeless: Windshield mounts would be perfect though.

Its cold as f*** here too. I am getting tired of the snow and being cold all the time. Havent washed my ride in a couple weeks. Man does it need it. Doesn't have much salt on it but some. I miss the nice weather. Nice weather to me is at least 50*. I could live with 65* temps all year round.

Add me to the list of those tired of the cold.

Note that doesn't mean I'd be happy if it hits 100 degrees either  Give me between 65-85 without too much humidity and I'm good!

Wow -22 is pretty damn cold. I think it was -5 here today. Best I have seen on the Voy is -8, on my avenger -11, so far this year. The snow doesn't bother me for the most part but I am soooo sick of this weather this year. Slight rant, if you are in michigan and you don't know how to drive in this weather, or feel nervous driving in it, stay home, please for the love of the lord, stay home. They need to add a cold weather track that one has to pass during a driving test or something before they hand out a license. I understand my commute time is going to up when the weather is bad, but a 4hr drive in, in place of a normal 45min drive is more than I can take. Actually I can take it once or twice, but this year it is literally everytime it snows!

20* (Feels like 8*)Serve Winter storm warning currently in effect until 1700 Friday. Maryland has declared a state of emergency. Snow is coming down hard, looks like 8"-12" total throughout the morning and up to 15" of snow. Some point Thursday it is going to rain/sleet and mix with the snow before changing back over.

I-81 was only one lane (Usually 3 lanes) coming into work tonight. The morning drive home is going to be great. Weather policy at my plant is, if you can make it to work, we are open for business. We will never shut down for weather
