Enough to tighten the nuts!

Ya it's some cold here...finally!, -21 c this morning and a high today of -13 c. The good news for me is the cold arctic winds have been gusting over the open waters of Lake Huron producing snow squalls, streamers (snow makers). District 9 in the map here is getting lots of snow some streamers dropping 40 cm. Its an interactive trail map and the trails update all the time as they become open (yellow and green) or closed (red). I bet there are lots of green showing up over the next few days in district 9. Total available trails show in box upper right. It's a pretty cool planning tool so I thought I'd share. I look at it all the time. I should be riding by the weekend. :wootwoot:

It's still bitterly cold here, but by Sunday it will be warmer and raining....Not sure if I'm happy about that or not, although I'm itching to go play in the mud lol

I grew up in Ft.Lauderdale, so anything below 50° is too damn cold for me!
I live with it, I just don't particularly like it...and the wife refuses to move anymore than 10 miles away from her parents

We are just used to negative F numbers here. A -40F windchill just makes us put on a scarf and like I mentioned earlier it hit -60F windchill in northern MN this week. My folks live in Hawaii and my dad said the weather was a bit unseasonal there and on the tv weather for the low temp the just had 'brrr' instead of an actual number. The low temp was 66F.

Oh it is. That is why I live in Florida. I hate cold weather. The more I can wear shorts and flip flops the better.

I was kinda banking on the Mayans being right,in that case we would be wearing the flip flops and you would have the Sorels:hissyfit:

FLORIDA! Lived down there for awhile (Ocala/Gville). Loved the breeze and the beach, but the summer heat is killer. Well GA isn't much better.

Heard at work yesterday we would get about an 1" of snow. Nothing as far as accumulation but first snow of the season. Woke up to this.

View attachment 26009

Looks like about 4", not bad considering we never get anything when it comes from the Great Lakes. We get hammered when it comes from the Gulf, then its heavy wet snow. Otherwise its been cold (for here), temp has been around 15-20F, however one of the temperature gauges on a Helo read 2F last night. 2 weeks of cold weather and we will be back in the 50's, same thing happens every year.

Im going to go enjoy the un plowed roads in my neighbor hood, and maybe find somewhere in the woods to go drive.

Lived in Florida for most of my life, I am 40. Only about 10 yrs in other places because of military and lived in Mobile Alabama for a while. I love my sunshine. Only wish I was closer to the beach some days. Actually thinking of moving to Orlando soon and working for Mickey Mouse. The has never been a problem for me. I would much rather be hot than cold. I hate to put a lot of clothes on. I hate the restrictiveness that it gives me.

On Monday I used the snow blower because there was too much too shovel, and the ground had been covered for at least a week or so. Today it's like 13c and all the snow is now gone and the grass all muddy. I leave tomorrow morning for 4 days of sledding (first time this season) 5 hours North of here and it' been raining there today as well, but back to -14 tomorrow with more snow tho. Pretty crazy weather last couple years  last year I only rode the Ski Doo twice :frown:

I love San Diego. The price of admission is pretty high, but I worry more about earthquakes and wildfires than the temps. Almost no tornadoes, hail, or heavy thunderstorms. The snow is polite, and stays above 4000-5000 feet generally, but you can go visit it by driving only 30-40 miles.
