What did you park beside? (or parked beside you!)

No pictures, but I'll try to get one since I'll still be seeing it now and then for nearly 2 months... a Jeep Liberty with the license plate "BLNGBLNG." Yes, you are indeed living large... in a compact SUV. Doesn't even have aftermarket wheels to live up to its plate name.

Maybe the plate got moved over from their Mercedes C230 Sport Coupe (with standard cloth seats and no CD player).

Well, I should have parked by them... three antique cars outside Subway (I'm talking they looked like Model As or were Model As, a little difficult at 40MPH to check) plus an extra one down the way. Must have been some kind of club.

Yep... at that time I didn't actually park beside them though I was seriously considering it. However, the feeling of hitting the toilet has been the overpowering one all day today so I couldn't stop by and get one. Being sick ruined this photo op.
 
Okay, this time WIIIIIITH pictures!

First up - my kind of store! The people to the right are loading another TB. Mine is to the far left, I parked beside another one, and there's an Envoy to the right. The truck wasn't parked, they were just rolling through and ruining my shot.

And second - at work today. This is how about 50% of things with Ohio plates look when they come to this side of the river. Note the upgraded door aerodynamics, the anti-theft Missing Handle System, and those sweet rims.

Technically we don't have emissions. Not according to the official safety inspection list as presented on the WV State Trooper website. Everything included is all safety-related. I know of at least one shop that applies an emissions sniffer before giving you your sticker. This is not present on the checklist provided to the public (only checking for intact exhaust, exact emissions are not listed). I also know of a shop that failed someone who had a non-working power window, also not on the list, and wouldn't help too much say if you run off into a river anyway.

Abuses seem to run rampant in both ways - on the one hand, you have people like the ones I mentioned above who will sometimes nitpick things in the hopes you'll get if fixed while you're there (you are not required to have that shop fix the issue) or use gray areas like "safety device" to include the window rolling down. Then you have ones who... "inspect." As in, you present your registration and insurance and tell them your odometer reading, and they put a sticker on without checking anything.
 
The other day, I made it a point to park by an old white Corvette. Was missing the rack over the trunk, there's ugly holes with a little rust around them, and the plastic for the drop-top rear window was fogged beyond belief. And yes I have a picture, but I'll upload it later.

We were. Jimmy Johns effed up our order the other night so they gave us free sammiches. We picked them up after I got off the train. They effed them up again. *sigh*

Never go to the one by the mall. Just go to the one off I-70 by Martins. Or Winchester.
