Actually, me and boats don't like each other. In fact, I believe I had relatives on the Titanic

Did a Costco run today. Was fully stocked and a little busier than usual, probably full of people needing to restock after losing all the fridge and freezer contents. Took the Caprice for a change. On the way back on the highway, got a message of low pressure right front tire. Not again! Pressure had dropped to about 18 psi. Drove it slowly all the way to a gas station about 5km away. Pressure dropped to 13 psi. Over-filled it to 60 psi, drove it home and it only lost 3 psi? Checking the tire and stem, it was loose, able to wiggle it. I could see the highway speed causing the sensor to move and bend the stem. Why did I go to that f*cking shop again? Every time they screw it up. Oh yeah, they were the only ones available. Anyway, tightened it, refilled and will monitor and carry a small compressor. Also tightened the other tires' stems which weren't as bad.

Took down the 2 kitchen storm/screen windows. Had to rebuild one of the screen windows.
Previous owner caulked and painted over the screws holding the storm window frames to the house. Had to drill the heads off all the screws because I couldn't get a screwdriver bit to seat in the tiny heads of those screws!
Used a pair of needle-nose pliers to remove the remains of the screws.
Repainted the exterior window frames, letting the paint dry overnight. Tomorrow I'll run a bead of DAP AlexPlus siliconized latex caulk around the window frames where the storm windows go, then reinstall them.

Just at Homeless Despot waiting for the Mrs to come with a load of plants. I picked up some more fence boards to finish the deck skirting and some Post caps.

Yesterday finally got the RV cover off and put in the batteries. Fixed the stairs as the extending legs would not move anymore. My fault because last year I foamed the inside of the frame to stop earwigs from climbing in. Pesky buggers!

I'm watching my friend's dog for a week while he and his wife are on vacation. (far cry from having the 5 dogs last year :hahano: ) Since he's been a good boy since Thursday when he was dropped off, took him to the park early this morning before it got hot, and got some good exercise in for about an hour before he laid down and tapped out.

Will relax for the bulk of the day, maybe get some groceries a bit later, and hopefully mow the weeds in the evening when the shadows get long. Seems like every time I let him out, he finds the tallest weeds so he can get his fur full of stickers, and then plucks them out in the house. :ugh:

Just know...They store around 1,000,000 Movies available for FREE Downloads there. :>)

Nice find for old movie buffs. I didn't realize that John Carpenter's 1982 The Thing, with Kurt Russell, is based on it.

Finished up one side of the RV suspension and called it quits for now. Too late to start the other side, which is in full-on sunshine so I would have gotten a wicked farmer tan (more like sunburn). It gonna rain the next couple of days, I may pick this up again on the weekend. I'll erect a canopy to protect my pasty white ass.

You probably already thought of this but, if you are welding after the rain stay dry off the ground. Otherwise your body is guaranteed to attempt to make ground through it regardless of where the grounding clamp is. The tingling feeling you might get otherwise says your not dry enough and we could use ALL the welding current to go to the weld puddle and not anywhere else. :twocents:

I wear good welding gloves and I'd rather have it not too dry as the trailer is parked on grass so... And I keep a hose handy just in case

On my lone day off. Coming off nights so little sleep to maximize my time away from the office. We've unfortunately neglected the hot tub so I had to try and balance chemicals for a soak tonight. Hoping to also get a bunch of the garden planted once it cools down.

But, I am waiting for the Traeger to warm up....20220602_120230.jpg

Another blah rain day. Installed a cheap Amazon volt and amp meter in the trailer so I know I am getting proper voltage and how many amps I'm pulling so as to not blow the park's breaker, which can be a PITA to get reset.

Well I'm still balancing the hot tub chemicals..... so I think I am....

Regardless, it was a big ferrier day here and the wife had some shoes made for a couple horses. Our guy, yes I use possessive as its hard to find a great ferrier, our guy comes all the way from Provost, Alberta. He hot shoes and builds them as opposed to just forming.

The chickens turned out fantastic and we had quite the meal. 20220602_152301.jpg20220602_170418.jpg

Yesterday, installed a new TV antenna as the old one was stationary and unless you were parked in the right direction, didn't get anything. And this one has a signal meter so when pointed towards the tower, LEDs light up. I now get more channels than the one on the house.

How does it compare to the old Winegard crank up antennas(antennae ) that were the standard for so long?....and that I'm still running...

I didn't have that, it was some unknown fixed direction antenna that just sucked if you weren't parked in the right direction. I had to drill a hole in my ceiling to add the rotator. It pulls in stations very well however I am in close proximity to two towers.

The old batwings can be upgraded with an additional antenna called the Wingman. Added one to the old RV's batwing and seemed to help pull in more stations. But for the money, I'd replace it with the King. Less likely to break and don't have to worry about leaving it up. And it comes with a signal meter so that helps a lot. However, I got lucky and got it on an Amazon return last Nov, $60CAD instead of $174CAD and just like new.

So did a few things today. First went and picked up from Marketplace a new dashcam that does front and back. Regular $90, got it for $40. Even comes with a 32GB card. Will probably install it in the Sierra and move the one on that's in there now to the Caprice.

Then rubbed up a tri-tip with salt, pepper and garlic and threw it in the smoker, cooking it like a brisket. Turned out real good! This is my new go-to for steak.

While that was cooking, did the other side of the trailer suspension. No real issues except that driving in the metal bushings was a bitch, having to use my ball joint tool c-clamp, which was a little too big and sometimes damaging them. My welds weren't perfect but good enough.

Adjusted the brakes and greased it all up.

Then had dinner 😋

Spent the weekend at my cabin in the woods. Chopped some wood for the fireplace, and did some cleaning.

Other than that, it was a veg out weekend. Did nothing but watch movies, and cuddle with the wife and kiddos.

Hope the driver is OK. Doesn't look like any other vehicles were involved.

Got my new gaskets / o-ring for the Voy's oil pan, and started working on it.

Turns out the baffles are riveted in? WTF?
And the thing that sits in the middle has bolts, but doesn't come out? FML

Was expecting to have a like-new pan, like I was able to do w/ the Sierra. For this one, I guess I'll just have to pour a little acetone in the sump and swish it around a bit. Thankfully, the inside is nowhere near as bad as the Sierra's was.

Did drill out the rivets that hold on the OEM gasket, before coming back inside to research the 'intricacies' of the 360's oil pan.
If I drove the thing hard, I'd get one of those front sump baffle kits that the TBSS boys use. But I don't think I've ever run WOT, except once when I first got the truck, got stuck in deep snow once, and forgot it had 4wd. :: D'oh!::

Run to Costco and the butcher shop. Their meat is cheaper since it's local and it's good stuff. Then prepping the RV for a trip to North Bay tomorrow till Sunday to visit our son's family. Should be leaving early afternoon. I already hitched it up as they are calling for rain tomorrow so at least I won't be getting wet doing that. First trip pulling the RV with the Sierra so I shall see what that's like.

Might extend it depending on what's going on with Mrs. Moose's work.

The tow to North Bay went really well with the Sierra. No issues going uphill, downhill with a pretty good mileage. Averaged 18L/100KM (~13MPG) pulling 6500# but it's a very hilly drive. Helluva lot better than the 6MPG I used to get with the Avy. Went through about half a tank of diesel (~50 L).

Setting up the RV was lots of fun, in the rain :frown: . And the campground also had lots of water on the ground everywhere.

Yesterday we spent the day with our son and granddaughter. Helped him setup a new trampoline, which got interrupted by some downpours that were not forecasted. I also modified the tranny tune on his truck so it hopefully lasts longer, disabling TCC in gears 1-4. Campsite is still waterlogged but today should be a nice day. They will be coming over here today, will be making a nice brunch for all of us and dinner, grilling up some tri-tips.

We are also extending our stay until Wed. Was supposed to leave tomorrow but calling for more rain and our son and granddaughter will be free for more visiting.

Yesterday I went and grabbed the last of our baby 1000 pound bails and swung them up to the new place. Last year we were at a complete moisture deficit and well last night we got 5 inches of rain. It got bad in these parts. Anyway, the diesel pulled this little load like a champ.

When I got home, the pulled pork came off the Traeger and man was that good.

Today we started cleanup as things got a bit washed out. I also freed up one of the blades on the swisher rough cut mower. She got jammed with junk and started to shake bad. I thought I was in for a fight but the impact leveled the playing field. Now she runs like a boss.

Big surprise why bearing failed - gm assembly installed it upside down!
I work in a factory that makes components for Honda automobile seats (and some stuff for other companies as well, but mainly Honda), and some of the things I've seen done just make me shake my head and wonder "How did they even get that together?"
Remember, those who strive to make things completely foolproof frequently fail to account for the ingenuity of a complete fool.
