Finally bought a set of SS rims for my Trailblazer, I'm trying to decide what tires I want to buy. I like the Hankook Ventus but I want so opinions on other tires along with the Hankooks if you've ran them. I want a quiet tire with good traction that will last, had some issues with my last set of tires(BF's:hissyfit:). TIA

Look for a tire with a high UTQG rating, higher the number the better the longevity. Vice versa for lower numbers, but also the lower the rating the stickier the tires are and better traction if you plan on spirited driving.

Hi there, see you're from Spokane! Have to get a meet going over there, flyingfischer is there and there are a few other members close by as well.

I have Hankook Ventus ST RH06s on mine and I have pretty good snow traction, really depends what you're looking for. Do you plan on running these year-round in Spokane? If you do, Id suggest getting an A/T tire so you have some grip in the snowy months.

If its going to be spring/summer/fall-only, Hankook RH06, Nitto 420S, Firestone ST, Yokohama Parada Spec-X (now discontinued), or Toyo Proxes ST II.

I agree with going to discount tire. Awesome customer service, and beat any quote Les Schwab gave me. Except my 285/50/20 were $245 a tire now only $215 because they are discontinued size.:hissyfit:

Only one I could find on my PC that really shows how wide they are.

Tire calculator says 5.8%. So when I'm doing 60mph my speedo says about 56mph.

I was just messing around with a Tire Size Calculatorhttp://www.1010tires.com/tiresizecalculator.asp?action=submit it looks like 275/45R20's are the closest thing to my stock 245/65R17's. The 255/50's were 1.689%(1 MPH) to slow, 265/50's were 3.043%(1.8 MPH) to slow and 285/45's were 1.895%(1.2 MPH) to slow but the 275/45's were .715%(.5 MPH) to slow. My only question is will I need spacers if I go to the 275/45's, will they rub? I know we have problems with the height of tires but haven't heard much about problems with width's.

I've decided I'm going with the Hankook Ventus ST RH06's now just need to decide on a size

275/45R20. Do it.

Wider and only a little shorter than the 255/50s, plus a TON more tire options. A lot of SS guys run 275/45 because there are any more options, the size is usually cheaper, and they're wider.

Believe me, your speedo wont change enough to notice, GM programs all the TBs with 29.5" tires from the factory.

I know the speedo will be fine its closer to my stock 245/65R17's speed then the 255/50R20's or 265/50 are. My only real question is will it rub? do I need spacers?

Good question, but no and no. No issues with rubbing, upper balljoint clearance, etc. Even slammed guys dont have any issues with that size.

I went with Hankook Ventus AS RH07 275/45R20. Discount price matched tirecrazy.com's $544 for the set, shipped no tax. After mounting/balancing and road hazard warranty $709. Not to bad. They'll be mounted and on my car next week :wootwoot:
