I had one of those as well. An 87 LX 5.0. Heavily modded under the hood, and dyno'd at the wheels with 677 rwhp. With losses for that era American car, you have to guess about 15%, so we'll say from 744 to 812 hp (10-20%).Porkins said:
I had a 78 King Cobra as well. From the factory it was really just stripes and spoilers (and 138 hp). It was the first US car Ford used the 5.0 designation (instead of 302). Swapped motor with a 74 block. With crank, cam, carb, etc, I was estimating 240-245 hp.

Forgot to post this last night. Saw this guy in the turn lane, and wasn't sure what I was looking at. He ended up making a U turn, and the windows on the passenger side were all the way down. It's a window AC unit. FAIL!! 
He was hauling an open trailer full of tree cuttings, so at least he could blend in so people wouldn't question why he was parked wherever he was...
