I have a question for anyone living in the snow belt. Last night the temps dropped to the lower 20's which is not uncommon for north Alabama. But when I went out to the porch this morning to feed the birds one of the small containers I keep full of water had this ice "growing" out of it. The bird bath is several feet away from this spot and nothing could drip water into this dish, so I wonder "what the heck could cause the water to freeze in this vertical position?" Ever see anything like this?

Was it near a roof? Could be an icicle that fell off the roof and planted itself in the bowl just as it was starting to freeze. I've seen icicles fall off and plant itself in the snow.

The roof is around 10' away from this bowl :sadcry:, but that would make the most sense. We haven't had any snow or ice in over a week here and none on the roofs. I believe this is going down as a head scratcher, cause it just don't make any sense at all. :Banghead:

Not a pic but this came up on my feed. Also just shows how imperfect AI videos are :dielaugh:

Their other videos are also hilarious, especially the office coffee one.

That's a bummer but, at least you weren't doing 60. Was that the original BJ ?
It was someone else in the neighborhood who fortunately only lived about 2miles away. But it happened 2 houses down from me.

I thought that of all the places to happen, that’s not too bad…live on a U street so no thru traffic. It was a 2016 GMC truck, seemed to be original parts and the lady said they didn’t use it for any off-roading, etc.

It was lucky to be just the UBJ (which sheared the bolt in half at the threads, it was not a pullout) and the LBJ held on so the truck didn’t fall all the way down.

Her husband and friend replaced the whole new upper and lower control arms and replaced just those parts to be able to get it moveable so a tow truck didn’t drag it and bust the wheel completely off.

I loaned them a few deep sockets they were missing and a 36mm axle socket so they could pull half CV out as it was blocking the LBJ removal.

He’s also going to need new inner and outer tie rod since it was bent 30degrees in the process as well as the CV axle and repair the brake line. 😬
