Says the guy who has never driven with 4300Ks :raspberry:

Oh I've seen how well 4-5K output, I just like the color at the high temps, as ignorant as it sounds, that's just me lol.

yeah you can't really say they're not brighter unless you have tried them Capote

Never claimed 12K was brighter, I know the higher the temp the less usable light, I'm not clueless lol

Sorry double post

Dave I am with you on quality, but I have 2 sets of these bulbs for less than one of the morimotos, and still haven't had one go out in well over a year.

are they supposed to last like 10 years or something?
I hear you on the price. TRS products do cost more than EBay or Amazon HIDs. TRS says their HIDs will last 2500 hours and almost everything comes with a 5 year warranty. Their customer service is outstanding.

I understand. Everyone has different styles. The TB stock housing with halogens has horrible output IMO. When I came across HIDs, I wanted the best output possible since I do a lot of night driving. That is why I went with 4300k. Plus I figured I would not have to worry about cops since they produce white light instead of blue/purple.

I am still looking into the Retrofit kit, but honestly i am leaning towards getting the lights off of ebay because my lights are old. lenses are not perfect and I don't want to do all that work and have pitted lenses.......
I would recommend to anyone to start with a brand new set of headlights if you are doing a retrofit. Plus you can take your time on the retro since you still have the OEs on your TB.

Going with a new set of headlights added an extra $330 to my retro

If you are going to buy a retro kit from TRS, this is definitely the weekend to do it.

Since the headlight housings on the Blazer are not much larger then the OE fogs on our 360s I'm def giving some thought towards a retro with matchboxes in the low beams...me thinks I will need to speak to smitty real soon...

I just don't see how there can be that big of a difference between these bulbs and the morimotos?

I have not had any problems with these yet.
That's the brand I use. All I've ever bought, great quality IMO.

Couldn't double quote but...

Capote, Dave has TBLT housings iirc and they're crazy expensive.

Yup I always have had that one waiting in my wishlist on Amazon, the version of it with the LED tube around the headlights looks awkward in person. I've seen it.

Oh that's right Garth, those are really expensive!

That's the best picture of those that I've seen.

With Ebay projectors I just wonder about the quality of the projector itself and whether it'll put out decent light..

Also completely redone 6-hi mod. Used new diodes and wires. Was going to do a how-to but my camera took one pic then died and i switched its SD card into my phone and when I tried to use my phone to take a pic it wouldn't access the card. Put my other card back in..same deal. Tried to take pics and save them to my phone to no avail. Sometimes my phone will refuse to take pictures or it takes them and they don't show up for a while. :hissyfit:

By the time I was done, it was taking pictures again. :banghead:

Before and after pics should be somewhere in this post.

Those aren't Ebay lights Garth, I can't remember which company makes them, but it is a legit brand. Only complaint with that housing is that water leaks in one of the corners in some cases.

From another point of view...everything on Ebay is made by a legit company...quality isn't always good though.

But, I'll take your point, I haven't researched those and you have. :tiphat:

Garth there are already a lot of write ups on quad headlights and 6 hi I wouldn't worry about it brother.
Only reason that I was going to do it is because I like the front fuse box method and the only write up I found for it had missing pictures.

My mod bug is disappointed in me. All I've been able to do recently is just solder LEDs..
 Not seeing the problem here... :raspberry:

Heres a pic of my half working Cree. I have to say it is still bright as $hit. I am slowly starting to regret this purchase.
Damn man, that really sucks. That just tilts the scales a little more to not buying these. WAY too many problems. I think if I went with LEDs, I might look for another option or brand.

I have been doing business on ebay since 2005 and what I can tell you is that you have to know what to look for when purchasing anything. i have had very little problems and have save a crap load of money over the years. eBay catches a bad rep because people do not know what to look for. there is cheap crap on there, but not everything is that way.

Insert Amen smiley here. So many people I know turn their nose up when I tell them I get a bunch of stuff off Ebay. They think it's full of scammers, and people selling broken junk.

As Brandon knows already, thinking about rigging these up to the rig, meant for Toyota & Lexus, it'd be interesting

I completely agree. No doubt though, sellers lie through their teeth in their listings. The guys that get turned off to Ebay are the ones that believe everything the ad says. You've gotta be educated on what you're buying or you're gonna be had.

There are exception to that though. But mostly true, I think a lot of it has to do with language barriers and missing information changes when listing multiple items. I have had eBay stores before. You have to be very careful to make sure the info is complete and accurate. I only had 100-200 listings, some of these guys have many thousands. I could not imagine that workload.....

Those are the same ones that I like if I decide to go the projector route. I have heard projectors are the way to go but I wonder about the off-road side of things as well.

Yeah the passenger side Cree is being a PITA. I have had no issues out of the driver's side Cree.

I just hope Kevin tested this board before mailing it. Maybe in the next few years LED headlights will be more reliable.

I have yet to hear back from Kevin since I sent him a pm letting him know I shipped out the bad driver from my set.

As it seems I may end up visiting and ordering from Trs soon
