Always wanted a good gas or battery powered rc car.. Those things are way too expensive for my taste though.

Gonna try 6-hi mod again tomorrow if I have any free time.
Did something not work bro?

Didn't work at all lol. Worked just fine on that Tahoe the other day though so it should be nearly the same concept just different places for the relays but no...no cigar. I'm wondering if diodes are sensitive to heat..put some heat-shrink on them with a lighter but I wouldn't think that would hurt them.

Yeah applying heat shrink to the diode shouldn't of hurt a thing, idk bro.

It's not worth it Brandon. They have LEDs that are in a ceiling fan shape that you could buy that would give the same look as those LED tails.

My mod bug is disappointed in me. All I've been able to do recently is just solder LEDs..

I think mine is still in a turkey coma after all the work the Blazer got this month and is unsure of the upgrade from Girlfriend 2.0 to Fiancee 1.0 OS...

you're killing me bro lol

He said they were not working 100% so I thought I could get them cheap. maybe even fix them and re-sell them. who knows.
$90 bucks is not cheap for something that does not work. I would offer $50 shipping included.

Your a master electrician, I am sure you can make them work.

Heres a pic of my half working Cree. I have to say it is still bright as $hit. I am slowly starting to regret this purchase.

No modding on the truck, but I did change the doorknob on my garage to match the new locks on my house I installed recently. But that wasn't enough as it only had a knob, so I got out the drill and hole saw and also put a deadbolt on the door. Didn't quite get the bolt perfectly centered on the door itself but it works!

One less key on the keychain!

.... Drilling new deadbolt holes in the door counts as modding, right?

I would think you should still be able to get your money back bro. especially after all the crap you have been through. And yeah the tails would be an easy fix, but I was thinking $40-50 myself. def not paying over 50% of retail for a damaged item.

Most likely. I am going to wait and see how the next Cree board works out and see how long they last. I have not had one issue out of the Cree I installed on the drivers side.

Kevin can easily test the boards prior to sending them out by using a couple scrap pieces of wire and a 9v battery.

HIDs have issues at times too, but it's a lot easier to diagnose & fix

For high beams I just prefer Halogens, I was still amazed last night driving back from Albany how bright the quad mod really is

You can easily see 1/2 mile ahead almost like daylight, that's on my momma son

I'm looking forward to the quad mod, no more holding the stalk lol. It's insane how bright all my HIDs are together - x4 12K's [emoji41]

Good quality HIDs (not the cheapo ones) are usually pretty trouble free. I haven't had problems with them.

I think high power LEDs are still early enough in their life that there are still bugs that need worked out.

I am still running HIDs in the low beams. HIDs are pointless in the hi beams due to the warm up time in my opinion. Plus turning them on/off will lower their lifespan.

You think 12ks are bright, you should upgrade to 4300k or 5000k. You would gain a few hundred lumen out of each HID.

Here I was considering an experiment with the old headlight from the blazer once I get a replacement. And that is testing to see if I can even fit the Leds into the headlight assembly.

Naahhh I like my 12k's, I'll see better anyway once I do the mod. I do plan on getting fogs, projectors most likely, should make things even better. I have Kensun Brand HIDs, never had an issue with them. Just recently with my drivers side ballast, but that isn't of the same brand

:iagree: x100. I thought my 6-8k's were bright until I got some 4300k's lol. Even then though they're cheap and closer to 5k.

TRS has 9006 XB35 bulbs for about half list price in their closeout section... Anybody need new bulbs?

Indeed. If I had HIDs in the TB I would buy those, not a bad deal at all considering I pay $12 for cheap bulbs on Ebay. Those are their latest and greatest bulbs lol, supposed to be as bright as the name brand bulbs that cost $100+

Says the guy who has never driven with 4300Ks :raspberry:

I just don't see how there can be that big of a difference between these bulbs and the morimotos?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Innovited-HID-Replacement-Bulbs-H1-H3-H4-H7-H11-880-9005-9006-9004-9007-D1S-D2S-/251601062089?pt=Apparel_Merchandise&var=&hash=item3a949788c9&vxp=mtr

I have not had any problems with these yet.
Quality of parts used and construction. This at least applies to their D2S bulbs which go into projectors.

yeah you can't really say they're not brighter unless you have tried them Capote

Dave I am with you on quality, but I have 2 sets of these bulbs for less than one of the morimotos, and still haven't had one go out in well over a year.

are they supposed to last like 10 years or something?
