I have read in several places on here where it is suggested to remove the luggage racks in order to achieve better mpg. I looked closely at the racks and they seem pretty aerodynamic. If i do remove them, what kinda mileage improvement might I see? Also, i see that they are adjustable, but how exactly do I remove them? I am assuming that a person just removes the two adjustable bars?!?

I have on both of my TB's and the fuel savings are negligible. I did it more for aesthetics and ease of snow removal.

The size of the set screws you need is m6-10

I would say you might see 0.5% better fuel mileage. Most remove it for a better look.

It's actually a joke:

You might notice less wind noise, depending on how loud you listen to your music. I had my crossbars removed for years, put them back on for a day to move something for a friend, and noticed a lot more noise at highway speed with the bars back in place both pre/post transport. :twocents:
