I just hooked up a portable AC that I have plugged in off the dining room. The breaker tripped after about 10 minutes, it's a 20 amp single pole tandem breaker (AKA cheater breaker). The AC and the modem are the only two things that I know are on that breaker. Any suggestions?

djthumper said:Weak breaker or the AC is pulling more then it should be. Are you sure that is all on the breaker?

I pretty sure that is all. Those are the only things that turned off when the breaker tripped.

djthumper said:I would replace the breaker. There is no telling how many times it has popped and every time they pop they get weaker. Unless you have a way to check how many amps it is actually drawing to verify.
