After another epic weekend, I have to wake to go view houses. Partied and shut it down on a rooftop in downtown st Paul til the sun came up down with a bunch of long lost HS friends. Two ppl I graduated HS with married and it wad great. Also found out that there are not one but two other buyers looking at houses with same criteria as I am. We agreed to consult before submitting offers! Oh and the wife's not back for another 26hours or so...

Any of you whores know anything about electrical stuff?

I just hooked up a portable AC that I have plugged in off the dining room. The breaker tripped after about 10 minutes, it's a 20 amp single pole tandem breaker (AKA cheater breaker). The AC and the modem are the only two things that I know are on that breaker. Any suggestions?

It's possible that it is a weak breaker. How old is it?

Weak breaker or the AC is pulling more then it should be. Are you sure that is all on the breaker?

We have been living here for 9 years and the house was built in 1997 so 10-17 years old

I pretty sure that is all. Those are the only things that turned off when the breaker tripped.

I would replace the breaker. There is no telling how many times it has popped and every time they pop they get weaker. Unless you have a way to check how many amps it is actually drawing to verify.

Welp..managed to get out on one motorcycle today and got injured on the other trying to start it lol

What did you injure? Your starting thumb? :raspberry:

Try the AC in to another plug and see if it blows the breaker or not. The compressor might be drawing to much power and going bad.

Won't do much good if the rest of them are 15 amp breakers...

Okay. The AC info panel sticker says 11.5 amps, so it should leave me 8 amps.

It works fine in the living room, but we need something on the kitchen/dining side of the house.
