I'm dealing with it in another way....the one waitress was rude to Whitney when she asked for gravy for her fries...next stop this morning is to that truck stop to speak to the manager.

Several options:

VHT night shades
Smoked Covers
Vinyl Wrap
Plastidip
 
VHT night shades.

Vinyl wrap will not work on OE tails. Plasti dip smoke is a joke. Only night shades.

When someone asks what they can use for a certain task or project I'm gonna put options out there and be unbiased. If you wanted my personal opinion as what to use I would of said covers because you can take those off to avoid getting pulled over

Tinted tails? Check your local laws. Personally, I want as much light coming out of the back when I need to slam on the brakes as possible. While at night it may still be quite bright, it will slightly diminish daytime visibility. Again, it's only slight, but is it worth any risk?

That said, VHT nightshade and some wet sanding are, in my opinion, what gives it the best look.

Some people just like the look of smoked/tinted tails, to each their own. That's what mods are about
 
I have never heard of a case but if you were to get rear-ended I can imagine someone fighting in court and with darkened taillights the insurance company refusing your claim. Wow, was that a run on sentence.

I've never been pulled over for my tails or my headlight covers (back when I used to use them). Been warned about them, but only twice
