I was at a shuttle launch with a friend who had press credentials. The public can get as close as 5 miles but the press is at 3 miles. Fucking incredible. It was 07-May-92 and the maiden mission for Shuttle Endeavour. The noise is like Nascar even at 3 miles. The sky is lit up. It's an experience that I would love to repeat but not sure if it could be matched or beaten.Mounce said:Flames gave engulfed the launch pad.
On a side note, I really wanna see a rocket launch. Big rocket...like NASA. I mainly wanna just hear it in person lol.
I'm green with envy.mcsteven said:I was at a shuttle launch with a friend who had press credentials. The public can get as close as 5 miles but the press is at 3 miles. Fucking incredible. This launch scene sounds/feels awesome with sub woofers n stereo crankedmcsteven said:I don't remember feeling any heat from it. Not really like a sonic boom (I've heard a few of those from the couple of years after 9/11 when we had fighter jets scrambled from Travis Air Force Base to Oakland or Alameda) but you certainly heard it. It was almost silent, people trying to listen to the countdown, we saw it lifting off, and two or three seconds later we heard the massive roar.

That's a good one lolmcsteven said:You calling Swede a whore? Ain't that the Trailblazer callin' the 9-7X a 360.

I'm not too politically correct, but the pot and kettle reference are pretty derogatory. The pot and kettle are whores.Mounce said:That's a good one lol

First time I "moved" to the states (1987) I lived upstate NY in Lake Carmel, was there for 11 months and worked in the tree business, trimming and removal.mcsteven said:You working whore.
Funny, After breaking my knee and no longer being able to be a firefighter, I moved from Connecticut to California. Worked for a CT based company. No openings for me to move back. So, moved to Pacific Bell, which became SBC and then took the name AT&T. When it was SBC, they had already bought SNET, the CT phone company. Again, no openings there. Hoping to move back to that area, say Northern New Jersey, eastern New York state, or any of the New England states (prob not Vermont, not sure why) within a year. Hoping I might have a teardrop camper made by then. If you haven't seen them, check out tnttt.com. You can find them on Tapatalk as well. Some cool stuff in just a 4'x8' (or bigger if you want) trailer package.
