What are you looking at?
It would be another TB. Mine is just near end of life and I'm starting to question the safety of the frame. A couple fist-sized holes towards the front, thin steel along the back where the control arms bolt on, etc. 205k miles too, though that isn't near as concerning.

Def sounds like its time to seek out a new TB and use this one as a donor.

Sadly yes. More likely I'll get the replacement, move mods over, then keep driving this one until it breaks something before it turns into purely a parts heap.

I have this tendency to get attached to my vehicles so the idea of gutting this one makes me a bit sad inside.

I'd feel the same way bro. It sucked trading in my 97 Yukon, loved it, but also had a ton of rust issues and was starting to be too much to maintain

Another reason why I will never live in the North ever again

Glad I live in the south and my vehicles don't get exposed to salt. My frame is still painted black, haven't seen any rust.
My truck still has no rust on the frame

That's the kicker I think. Previous owner probably didn't wash it that often and lived in Cleveland. I know I've been a bit lax about keeping it sprayed off as well

Same here. Weekly trips to the automatic car wash in the winter helps
True dat.

Even without us getting much snow here so far this year still run thru the car wash at least once a week. Even drive super slow when entering to get the under carriage as much as possible.

Saw a 2006 for $6k on Autotrader. Looked spotless, even the suspension was still jet black. Had to be a southern vehicle. Had 188k miles tho. Don't like buying them with that high of mileage. Definitely had been taken care of at least cosmetically anyway.

I bet that was a fun time. Did you catch it before it grenaded?

I replaced the whole rear axle not long after as the rear end started making this horrid howling noise. It had some pretty bad gear slop, I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did actually. When I got the truck and changed the gear oil it was very shiny, but it ran quiet for another year. Then within a couple days it started making horrific noises lol. No idea what the previous owner did to that axle

I feel the same about my cars. I used to keep them till they died. When I moved from Connecticut to California, it killed me selling my Mustangs. The 87 would never have passed inspection here and the other 2 I knew would fetch good $$). I, on the otherhand, hope to move back to snow country. Figure I've got a 4WD machine made to get around a little safer in the snow.

Meet? VEGAS VACATION! It's not just a Chevy Chase movie.

Bored as Shit whores...
