I thought and still think that it's scary lol. I believe it was I-75. The south-bound lane fell off, they built it back up somehow. I'm still eerie about going over the spot because it's sunk quite a bit.dmanns67 said:
No I did not. When riding in the back I remembered thinking that it was a looooong way down if we happen to drive through the guardrail. Which road was it? We typically took I-75.
Those Iron Duke engines were pretty tough. I wasn't thrilled with the transfer case on the 4WDs, but those trucks were workhorses. A friend had 3 or 4 and always got at least 250K miles /400K Km from each one. He always found the 1st gen models.Darkrider_LS said:1985 S10 short box
2.5 Iron Duke with 4 speed manual.
I figure it will be a good and durable truck for the gf to relearn how to drive a stick shift in. Once we get it sorted I can then focus fully on the Trailblazer. My dad's friend looked at the pads I removed from the Blazer and he agreed it was mostly from heat and that I should def upgrade to ceramic pads at minimum.mcsteven said:Those Iron Duke engines were pretty tough. Thats nuts. Was there vehicles on the road when it went off of the mountain? Any idea what caused it?Mounce said:I thought and still think that it's scary lol. I believe it was I-75. IIRC, it happened during the night and no one was involved. I don't think there was really a cause other than it was just a random land-slide, probably didn't help that there was tons of asphalt and thousands of cars going over it each day, I imagine that just loosened it up over time.dmanns67 said:Thats nuts. Thats still crazy. I am going to have to google some pic.Mounce said:IIRC, it happened during the night and no one was involved. Don't think I've seen an aerial pic of it, that's wild lol.dmanns67 said:Thats still crazy. I am going to have to google some pic.

Yes sir, BrakeMotive is used by quite a few members here.Mounce said:Don't think I've seen an aerial pic of it, that's wild lol.
On a side note, time to shop for brakes for the TB. Last time o had the wheels off i peeked at the pads and they looked like they still had a lot of life left. But...I've been noticing a roaring noise while stopping sometimes and now it's getting more frequent and can be felt. I'm thinking it's time for pads and rotors, seems like the general consensus here is brakemotive, yes?
On a further side note, our Silverado made it to 120k before we changed the pads and they still looked great. Kept them as spares, actually lol.
Yeah I cannot answer that as I have only had mine installed since June of this year. When I swapped out my SS wheels for my winter wheels, the rotors and pads still look good.Mounce said:Yeah I feel like $190-ish is a deal. (isn't ext/xl more like $197?)
Main question that I have is... Do they last like OEM? Or will I be buying a new complete set a year later? I've got some reading to do about it lol.
No, what be happening?r1894 said:Who else is listening to Detroit Fire dispatch???
I will be going the brakemotive route on my trailblazer but most likely Powerstop on the Blazerdmanns67 said:Yeah I cannot answer that as I have only had mine installed since June of this year. When I swapped out my SS wheels for my winter wheels, the rotors and pads still look good.
I think there are a few members who have said they have had their BrakeMotive rotors for years now.
Mine went about 3-ish years before I replaced them. They technically still had life left but while I had everything apart when i did my lift I just did them. Something like 70k-80k miles I think.Mounce said:Yeah I feel like $190-ish is a deal. (isn't ext/xl more like $197?)
