"UPDATE" After taking some time off and working with the Father in law and his Chemo. I got back to the Conversion Progress...

1. Installed SS Cluster (No Warnings Yet.)
2. Installed the highly sought after Cloth SS Seats.

(Seats) *This is where I need someones expertise.
Problem: 1. I installed them and bolted them down. I did the clip the black and orange wires to make powered functions work. That is fine. What is not hooked up and I am confused on is the little "Yellow Clips", which if I am correct in my thinking, have to do with the airbags? Well the 02 TB has big yellow plugs with male terminals and the seats from an 08 TBSS have little yellow plugs with male terminals. I am fine with cutting and making my own connections to make it work, but I do not know which wire goes to which since none match up. There is a another plug under the passenger seat that I didn't have a plug for at all in the 02 TB. The passenger seat isn't powered.

Problem: 2. The seat-belts are seized up as tight as possible and wont release so I can buckle in. No movement and they are very tight to the seat. Is there something I am missing to get them to act normal?

*AirBag Wires? In case this is too fuzzy, one pair is White and Black from the seat and grey and blue coming from the 02 TB.

I may have a theory about the seat belts. Assuming the seats came from a totaled SS, I'm assuming there is a lock on them that has kept them from moving since the accident. Not sure if this is a safety feature. Might also have something to do with the plugs as well.

Yeah I thought maybe its a fail safe to prevent passengers from flying out of the seat or hitting windshield. I have to figure out how to unlock these since its not legal around here to be without seat belts.

generally if a seat belt tensioner pops in an accident, its junked. search youtube for repair seat belt tensioner.

you are probably better off using the seat belt tensioner from your old seats.

Yeah so established they are locked from an accident prior to my ownership. Anybody know if there is a DIY to fix it without more money out? Also anyone have a diagram telling me each pin in the seat plugs from the cloth ss seats and what they do? So I can finish wiring them up?

Solved my wiring issue. With the airbags, and I now know the seatbelt issue is the tensioners are blown because the TBSS was in an accident. Now to find new tensioners!

Just thought about trying to install DIC and this idea out but when I checked with a test light it said its a normally closed momentary switch. Back to the drawing board or I am going to buy a DIC Steering Wheel. But I didn't ruin my main radio/speedo bezel since I have three of these lying around.

But here are some snapshots of my attempt number 1.

Placement for the buttons looks pretty good. Have you tackled the wiring for the display itself yet?

Think that may be where I put my switches for my lights now.

I remember when I first started, I told myself I wasn't going to go this far with the clone. But where did I jump off track?

:banghead: Damn, I REALLY didn't need to know that!! Now I'm gonna be looking. Was that from a local junker, or online somewhere?

Local junker. All the eBay ones were 199 and that wasn't complete. Plus freight. Mine was complete for 120, plus not having to pay for freight.

Have a question on your SS seat installation. I'm in the middle of doing the same on a 2003. I just used the orange and black wires on the passenger side and it works fine. When I put the drivers seat in again I used just the orange and black wires and nothing works, no back & forth, no up & down and no backrest movement. Are those the only wires you used? I have power on the wires.
Just looking for some help!
Thanks,
Dick

Yeah Orange and Black supply power to seat so you can control movement. If it doesn't work and you have checked the wires for voltage and they are fine. Then the seat motors are not working properly. There also could be a break in the wires or possibly a bad ground? I am just guessing all the checks I would do. The only other wires I hooked up was the Airbag plugs and the ground wire for seat-belt detect.

Thanks for the reply, I looked at the seat wiring and there was no visible problem. Guess my next move is to follow the wiring with a volt-ohm meter. Thanks again.

That sure looks nice have youbeen able to find the front bumper yet?

Nope sadly not. Seems TBSS are magnets for getting hit in the front somehow.

I scoured the cities looking for a used bowtie, I like to see what it is I am buying, and EVERY TB I came across seemed to have rear ended someone or smashed into something. Must be the 4x4/AWD "I can stop better too" syndrome.

Sometimes a bigger auto body shop can locate them for you. All about the right resources. Good luck!

Thank you for your kind words!

Yeah I had thought about that also. I mean my seats and cluster came out of a SS that got t-boned while it was parked. The dash came out of one that flipped and landed on its roof after hitting something in the front end, so I am guess it was going so fast it flipped end over end.

Usually they are listed around 400. I assume they're selling because they disappear. Yeah there's definitely a huge difference in price from the rear to the front for whatever reason. There is a company that sometimes lists bumpers that were damaged that they repair and prime. They sometimes are a little better like 350 but I don't know if the prior damage thing sketches you out or not. I wish the tbss front end parts were cheaper.

Ill take some damage but not to where I have to bondo or anything, if it mounts and isn't flimsy or have gaps, gashes, or holes then it works with me.

And this one.

I dunno these seem too good to be true?

 Same Ebay ad?

The mounting tab on the driver's side is busted off, so you'd have to find a way around that and rig something. That would be a deterrent for me.

Sorry, iPad and tapatalk were acting up while copying those links. Both were from that seller, though, so you could just search his listings for the other TBSS front bumper.
