Another topic I wanted to start. I'm sure some of us have considered it, and I am contemplating doing this with some other performance upgrades. I would love feedback from people that have done it, thought about doing it, etc. Let's keep it on topic and try to give people good perspectives of pros and cons, as well as procedures involved. I'll do some real posting from a computer that isn't my phone, but this is what I have figured out so far.

Parts needed are 2wd drive shaft, tail shaft, and tail housing. Transfer case, front diff, axles, disconnect, front drive shaft, and tccm can all be removed. I'm assuming a tune fixes the 4wd recognition issue.

If I do this, I am also taking the opportunity to fix the rear main seal leak and install a shift kit. I would also sita an ss rear axle, since I wouldn't have to worry about matching gear ratios.
