My brakemotive D&S rotors and pads came in today, I had a question about posting before pics so here they are.

I have different angles so you can see the entire rotor. These do look pretty nice, but we will find out.

They also came with powerstop evolution ceramic pads. I know what I am doing this weekend.

How much did it run with shipping? My brakes are down to about 40% so I'm starting to plan the next set. . .

Does anyone know if they sell drilled only and not slotted.

I would email the seller on ebay, I am not sure if he buys them pre drilled and slotted, or if he buys blanks and mills them.

Ohhhhh Damn I have to get some. I know they are gonna look sweet on your truck. I'm pretty sure he has drilled rotors & the prices are great for a set of 4 with pads

Previously a few years ago they carried slotted only, or drilled + slotted.

Now all of them are drilled + slotted. They don't have any other line. At least that's what they told me when I asked them last year.

The slotted only ones I found had a price tag of over $500  I could not justify that price when I could get almost 3 sets of these.

Thats right you said drilled only :bonk:

Those rotors look nice, I like the dimpled/slotted ones. If these turn out to be junk then I will look into that site.

Nice purchase

Must not have been by Brakemotive because none of their brakes cost that much.

I don't think they'll be junk. Not from my experience anyway.

I have used power stop before with no ill effects. They lasted about 25k miles, which is longer than the autozone specials I have on right now. I know I can get EBC or somethingclose but for free ones if I get 10k miles I will be happy.

If it were me...I would toss the free pads in the garbage and buy a new set. I had bought deal like that before rotors with free pads. Pads only lasted a few months.

They aren't junk pads.

I had the rotors on the truck for about 3 years no issues really but i went through those pads really easy the pads suck the rotors are nice

Here are some installed pics.

I know they are not the best pics, but the stock wheels do not allow much viewing area.

Initial impression, they are f-ing awesome, braking feels drastically improved. Then again my old ones had the factory rotors on and they had a nice wobble feeling when braking. They do look real nice too.

I will get better pictures when I have time to go actually take care of giving it a nice bath, and some polish.

This past summer I had to do my brakes, and these are what I got. Some of you may remember me posting pics on the OS. So far I have been very pleased, I went ahead and gave her new brake fluid as well. So far the rotors have yet to start rusting. So I am pleased there also. Will be buying a set this summer for the Miata as well.

I give this guy a

It was cheaper than the autozone special with rotors running about $40-$50 each. Rock auto would have been maybe $10 cheaper. Great price, fast shipping and the brakes work awesome.

I know I have seen some pics of some cracked rotors, but between machine tolerances and other manufacturing variables they could be from anything.

If you're referring to mine, they aren't cracked. Just a goof on the machining process that left a few deeper marks.

What tires are you running? Never seen that.

Make sure you seat the pads properly, but I love mine. The break in process made me super dizzy, but they perform great, and look really good too

 Nope we know what yours is from. I was referring to ones with actual cracks, my guess is usually extreme braking.

Fuzion XTi, they are getting hard to come by. I really wanted to run a set with the lift with a 265-70 16. They are just not making them anymore from what I find. I love them, small amount of road noise, they can get around pretty good in light mud and have had no issues with snow. Current front tires have been on for 45k miles.

If you flip them around they have tribal graphics, I like the flames better.

Doing the best I can, people drive like complete Idiots around here, so I have been avoiding rush hour traffic I am at about 150 miles since install and everything looks good.

My truck came w xti's. Not a bad tire.

Did you do the break in procedure recommended by Brakemotive or explained on the OS? I can't remember the whole thing, but it included several accelearation and hard braking in a short time to heat up the pads and rotors to match their surfaces.

They definately look cool, keep us posted after the break-in. Heck of a price for a complete set of brakes.

I have the same slotted and crossed drilled rotors and ebc brakes and i have had mine for almost 8 months now and they are by far the best set up you could get for the price and the pads are not a cheap quality either they are top notch and they will put you through the windshield thats how well they work. the break in process will drive you nuts i just went to a parking lot and broke them in by driving in fast short bursts and just put a little bit of pressure on the brake pedal and then push hard after a few feet, do this about 10 times and you will start to get the stopping you need. i also rode the brakes a little bit when driving around after the break in and so far so good, i checked the pads and rotors after a few days and no problems what so ever. I do recommend cleaning and flushing the whole break system and bleed them a few times and just about a week ago my wife and i where headed to the store and some old lady cut us off and she jammed on the brakes and the seat was well you know.LOL

So i would recommend these to anyone well worth the price and shipping is free, hope this helped to add to this section.

Me too, many months ago. I live at the beach and the outside finish is toast - not rusty but dull and chalky. So what, the discs and pads work well. No brake dust. I'm a happy guy.:wootwoot:

I just bought these brakes from BrakeMotive on Ebay. Paid $179.00, they should be here May 8th.

I put a set on the front last year and love 'em. I read alot about people not burning them in properly and ending up with a warped rotor feeling in the pedal so I took the truck down a country road and made half a dozen or so hard stops in quick succession and they were cherry. I have a set for the back that I have yet to install but it'll be soon.
I got severely bent over when they shipped across the border but other than that it was a pleasant experience.

I installed a set in August of 2010 and they still look and work perfectly. I think I have about 25k miles on them so far. I'm very happy with them.

Installed them yesterday(May12th). While I was at it, I also bleed my brakes. Sorry No Pics. Plenty of other members have done that for you. 1 lesson I have learned, Brake Quiet is made for a reason, Use It! Oh....Yeah and having the proper tools helps alot! But now I have Metric and Standard Wrenches.

I bought them back in October, I don't like them one bit. They produce a drone noise/ vibration when stopping after a few hundred miles were put on them, I messaged the seller and I was told that's normal. I ran them through winter and the zinc coating didn't hold up for crap, all rotors are rusted. I have yet to tow my boat with them which is going to be the real test, but thus far.... I would not recommend them to anyone. For a hundred dollars more I could have had Delco's which I will be doing next time.

You're going to get that noise with slotted rotors. Brakemotive is right, that's normal for them. And it really doesn't surprise me the zinc coating didn't last well through winter, salt is hard on stuff like that.

Sounds like mostly superficial complaints to me however - the most important thing IMO is how well they stop. My original brakes were crappy, I didn't like them, and they were rusty too anyway. These stop better.

Did these exact ones on my truck, all 4 corners. I installed them at ~70,000 miles and I'm at ~105,000 now. I used the pads that came with them, and I'm really happy. I will definitely recommend these to a friend, no complaints here- I also did the break in process described by the seller, too.
