2001 4x4 Tahoe 5.3 dual piston rear brakes.

November of 2013 the left rear of my wife's Tahoe was grinding. I found the left rear pads gone. I replace both rear pads and rotors. Right side was good but replaced the pads And rotor.

April of 2014 again grinding left rear. I replace both pads, rotors and calipers.

We'll it's back. Left rear worn out. Right side looks good.

Any ideas what to look for so I don't keep having this issue.

Thanks,
Walt

Did you grease the slide pins with each pad change? If not, they could be sticking.

Or you could have a mad caliper that sticks.

Yes. I even pulled the new (reman) calipers apart, cleaned and re-greased before the installation.

Put new pads on both sides. New rotor and flexible hose on the left. Right sides were 50%. We will see how long it lasts this time.

Could be the caliper pistons sticking, not fully releasing.
