Prescott speedway in Prescott, Arkansas. I was a teenager then. They also had a blown commaro and mustang.
I know that a 8.1L is nothing more then a mild stroked 7.4L from the factory. Designed with low end torque. There is a guy in CA that has aluminum heads, three different cams, and custom headers for the beast. I also noting there is a chevy 705CID online. Coffee cans for pistons I bet.
I think I will go with the 6.2L/480hp 475ftlbs torque crate from Jeggs. then add the kooks tuned headers and a 92mm TB. Hopeing to push it just over 500hp and 490ftlbs of torque. Run it to a speed shop in OKC for a dyno tune it and call it a day. Then work on body and interior.
As for the rear diff, I am still not sure on changing the 3.73 to a 3.42. I will have 1/3 more torque from the 6.2L and possibly start using 1st again. I get 19 mpg on the freeway as of now with the stock 350 TBI with 300ftlbs from the fly.
