Who knows what these things are? Under back seats...

Under my back seat, I found this plug (with a green cap?) and one orange wire purposely clipped?
What and why, please? Pics a,b,c with green plug:

Then there's the big box with two of the three cables pulled out. I assume this is the OnStar module, and I assume it is obsolete. Is there anything other than OnStar going in or out or through this box? (I notice that my rear door speakers are not working, by the way.) Pics d,e,f

Finally, this little black wire that is actually a shielded cable under the back seat and also near the gas pedal. I'm guessing this is from an add-on rear camera or something like that added by a previous owner. Any guesses? Pics g, h

I see in the schematics that there's a Body Control Module behind the driver's seat.
And I see that battery power comes through an orange wire.

Okay, so I see that the electronics package behind the driver's seat is the body control module BCM, some fuses and other brainy bits.

I also see that the box behind the passenger seat is the OnStar box and all the plugs are out to disable it.

I see that the green cap on the plug is actually a connector that connects the wires going into the plgu in some way. Removing it cycles the door lock with the car turned of. But it seems as if the orange wire that is cut is the 12v battery supply that would power something. The OnStar box?

Original Poster. More or less solved...

Green plug is a "splice pack" which I think connects C2 data streams. Orange wire cut may be an attempt to isolate the OnStar module. Pics ABC. Under passenger rear seat.

Pics DEF are the OnStar module. Under passenger rear seat.

Pics GH seem to be aftermarket shielded cable added by previous owner,

Posting reply as a test. My Gmail account it immediately deleting emails sent from this forum so that I don't get alerted unless I happen to be looking at the screen. Tried selecting another email address. Just a test.

My guess is that it's for an antenna for a remote starter. Could also be for a camera. Depends on which was the other end goes. Towards the windshield, remote starter, towards the back, camera. Pretty thin either way.

My guess is it was for a camera. I was thinking of installing a backup camera. The one I bought for my popup is wireless to the base unit/display but needs a 12v supply. I was thinking of drawing off of the backup lights as long as that doesn't upset some computer checking for bad lamps or something. Now, I'm thinking there must be a 12v source in the cables that went to the OnStar box that I can run to the rear plate pretty easily. Wireless camera can be moved from back of truck to back of camper trailer.

I'll have to see if that little coax goes anywhere useful.

I just finally finished the front suspension. Sway bar links, struts, upper and lower ball joints, inner and outer tie rod ends. Had it aligned, and it's very nice. Also, four new tires and one of the old ones on an extra stock Bravada wheel. The original Michelin spare from 2003 is still underneath with the stickers still on it completely unused. Gonna see if the aluminum wheel fits up there and isn't a weight issue.

Also fixed a buzz in the ABS by replacing the sensors. One of the replacement sensors was bad out of the box and had to be reordered.

Going camping with the pop up trailer this week. Reason I have this monster. All issues seem to be fixed, now. Next will be rust prevention.

I wouldn't use that as it's likely constant B+ and would drain your battery. Using the backup lamp + is fine.
