Water in my engine

What are the odds to recover my engine after it blew the head gasket and got water to the oil?
I got new gasket and timing chain just in case and already changed ckp and cmp sensors. But after I change the gasket, I am going to run an interior wash with cheap new oil and some oil flush, before I put the new and final oil to it trying to get out all the moisture I can.
Do you think it's going to work?

All depends on how long the water sat in there and if the steel parts rusted. Things like crankshaft bearing and cam lobe surfaces could have rusted and pitted which will destroy the bearings. That being said, most do survive.
