Tragic accident

The driver is 76 so I'm thinking dementia, Alzheimer or just loss of ability to drive. If that's the case, why didn't anybody take her keys away? That happened to my MIL at 72 when she couldn't drive safely anymore, even before her stroke and onset of dementia. I know it's not the case for all older drivers but it's a possibility in this case.

One news report doesn't contain all the details to form a accurate conclusion. But the stereotypes certainly push ones mind in a certain direction. Please let's not speculate.

Personally, I hope if I was hit like that, I'd put the truck in PARK right away and not move. But if somebody of any gender came to my door, pounded on the window, and grabbed for my handle assuming I wanted them to come in, I might assume they were about to drag me from the vehicle for some sort of revenge and they'd be met with vigorous resistance. But that's just me, and I'm a bit younger than 76.

Just like we shouldn't speculate it was done on purpose.

she runs her over 3 times..3 times...but she didn't mean it, she was in shock.....bullshot.
She didn't mean it, give me a break.

No matter the cause, it was a tragedy for all involved.

I do hope that when the time comes that I will give up my keys on my own when I am unable to keep driving safely and if I am unable to make that decision that someone will have the courage to do it for me. I won't mind imposing on my kids like they did on me for rides

Turns out, this was my co-workers wife that died. Very tragic....

He is a sweet dear man... always a smile with a positive outlook... you just never know when or if it will ever happen to you or one of your loved ones.
