This thing popped up on my facebook marketplace and I'm kind of obsessed with it:
Same year LT as mine, but with fewer options. And its the 4.2 not the 5.3. But I'm strongly considering doing the crazy thing and buying the blue one, selling my brown one, doing some upgrades to ol blue and keeping it for a bunch more years.
People compliment me on how good and new my brown 08 looks, and this blue one looks noticeably better!
I wish it wasn't so far away, I'd go check it out. All of this is assuming that the underside look as mint as the top and interior. And this is new england so the bottom might look brand new. Or the bottom might look like a hunk of metal that washed up on a beach 40 years ago.
Not a fan of the steps, i'd pop those right off. I hate the aftermarket wheels, I'd try to find some mint OEM wheels. Ideally some 18's if I could fine them. I'd want to do all of the upgrades I did to my 08, all over again. New springs, new shocks, new swabar links, new rear swaybar, new tires. I've also upgraded all my lighting except lowbeams and foglight to LED, I'd want to do that. It has a crap radio and no steering wheel controls. I'd upgrade that to carplay probably.
I don't know, I always say I'd do more upgrades to my truck if i knew it had a bunch of years left. And it may not, the rust is slowly eating it. But this blue 80K one is extremely tempting. Especially comparing the cost of it, PLUS wheels and tires and the upgrades I would do .... comparing all that to the cost of a brand new base model 4x4 4Runner . . . this would be about $40,000 cheaper.
I've also actually never driven a 4.2 trailblazer. They sound like George Jetson's spacecar. How do they feel power-wise? On paper, they have good specs. I've been telling myself, what I'd be loosing in torque curve, maybe I'd gain by about 2 mpg better fuel economy. Maybe.
Talk me in to it. Or talk me out of it. Just don't buy it out from under me either way
