I would not want either of them. Both seem more detrimental than helpful. I guess I would negate first gear if I had to choose cause OD is not so strong of gear.

4 speed manual. Should have clarified it would've been a tranny overhaul/rebuild for re-gearing. New challenger has a 1st to 4th shift for "eco" mode. Haven't read the exact guidelines of use.

6 Speed Manual... FYI...the T-56 manual from GM came with a 1st to 4th skip shift since the 90s for gas mileage. I bypassed it the day I bought both mine. SUCKED.

RR. But they are ugly. I would not own a diesel VW period. My parents do and even with improved fuel economy...it costs more than a gas vehicle overall. Diesels should stick to heavy trucks.
