And I heard on the news today that one set of thieves was thwarted because the retired cop covered the VIN of his Jeep, preventing them from creating a duplicate fob.

These are the most stolen vehicles in Ottawa so far in 2023

Approximately 100 higher-end luxury SUVs and pickup trucks have been stolen in Ottawa each month so far this year.

Lucky for me, thieves don't seem to like GM vehicles.

FWIW - this only works if your car has CAN in your headlight to begin with (I've always thought that was a stupid and completely unnecessary thing in the first place). So none of my vehicles are at risk because no CAN there.
