Removing C Clip Cant get axle in far enough see pictures

I have n 05 avalanche and I would guess it has a locker as it has a plate (See pictures) between the axles and spider gears. How does that plate come out as it doesnt appear I can get the axle in far enough to remove the c clips The Clip on the right, with the magnet attached is close, the left side isnt even close. I am guessing it is hitting the plate. Thanks1.jpg

Maybe the spider gears have some wear and moving inwards with the axles. Try pushing them back out while also pushing the axles in.

I know I had to persuade the axles in with a dead blow hammer. I also have a G80 axle.

Just took that dead blow hammer, and hit the end of the axle 3 times. That pushed it in far enough.
