My truck didn't come with rear DVD package. I want to install a OEM rear DVD screen/player.. Anybody know if there is wiring under the headliner or if there is a way to get the wiring harness? So I can install a OEM DVD player?

Nope. Now Someone else may also be able to chime as to whether or not a harness is sitting somewhere for the DVD player to plug into.

You could always do what I did.

Looks good what size screens are those? And where did you get thanks

7" 16:9 for the visors. 8" 4:3 for the rear flip downs. Someone broke into my truck back in January and they took the visors and the original head unit. Back to stock visors and a new HU. I bought the screens off eBay and Amazon. This was before the Hi-def craze, they are fairly good on resolution but not hi-def. Total cost under $1100, installed my self so no labor.

No wiring and the OEM has a base in addition to the actual dvd unit that if I recall is actually under the headliner. Both my 360's have the oem but if I were in your shoes, I'd go with the head rest dual screens. Simple to install and cheap. The only things that I like about oem are the ability to hear the movie through the speakers and that its not broadcast through an fm station. Of course you can't see the move on the factory nav unit screen without serious modification like you can with any aftermarket unit.

If I remember correctly the L brackets for the roof mount stuff are all in place on the TB as well. I utilized the cross brasses behind the headliner to mount my screens. Used 16 gauge sheet metal and rivets to hold the mounting plates, and riveted the sheet metal to the braces. I did it over the course of a week, total time about 12-14 hours. Getting the headliner out is a PITMFA, thankfully I did not crease it.

Headrest monitors would be a breeze and I would recommend those as a great alternative, you can even pay the big money and get color matched interior, or you could find a set of factory ones and mount the screens yourself. Either way aftermarket has better options than OEM.

Well I guess aftermarket it is, will see if I go with headrest or flip downs but either way, it's a must with a five year old

I'm even jealous of your "OH SH!T" grab handles. I guess the newer ones got jipped outta them. :hissyfit:

My 07's have grab handles. They are the spring loaded ones though. As for the TV situation, a really quick, cheap and easy solution is to go grab a set of the ones you strap to the headrests. On our very first Rainier, we put a set of those on for the kids. They do the job.

I wasn't insinuating I didn't get any grab handles at all. I too have the spring loaded ones, and personally I don't like them. I was referring to the handles he has, I think those are the "nice ones" and wish I had them....

What I do for now until I get headrest units for the kids, I use my Hp touchpad for movies in car. The case fits perfectly in the sunroof so they both can watch, plug in aux outlet and it plays through speakers. Gotvme though a lot of long trips.

They sell mounts that clamp to the headrest posts, and ones that bolt to the seat bolts, if you want a different alternative.
