Most saw this on the fb pages, but I haven't posted much on here lately. Had alot going on at home and between working 2 jobs I just don't log on much. Back on Sept 27,2015 my pup suffered a stroke. She's an 8.5 yr old pure bred German Shepherd. I was taking a nap that day and I was awoken to her crashing into my end table. I immediately noticed her walking differently and rushed her the ER vet clinic. We were there for 9.5 hours and by nights end she was completely paralyzed as the stroke had fully set in. It's called FCE for short but it's an Embolism where a piece of cartilage broke off from her disks by her spine and that cartilage lodged itself blocking the supply from her spine to her hind legs resulting in paralysis. Just as in humans, a dog's recovery depends on the animal and lots of rehab and therapy. She was in therapy 3 days a wk for the past 4 months and to make a long story short, she has the ability to walk today but has lost the function of her left hind leg. From complete paralysis to being able to stand up, I'll take that as success. No I have a special harness for her when needed bit she's getting around just fine.
I posted this here because for the second time in my ownership of the beaSSt, she came out of storage and saw the salty roads of Ohio winters. My Cruze is too small for my 100 lb German Shepherd so I had no choice. I love my baby (the dog lol) and her health was more important than a machine. Luckily though it only snowed once real bad to where they needed to lay salt down. She is now back in storage and I'll post the pix of the aftermath of 4 months of hauling a shedding dog and now how clean it is again.
Fully Paralyzed to standing strong!
