Guys I know this is a real old post but can someone answer me or give some advice. My 03 envoy low beam headlight is crappy. I put new bulbs and have a clear housing in but I think that metal shroud if a problem maybe bent or something. I even had some Led replacements but they were worse. I would like to remove it but will that make them worse? Any ideas? I can start a new thread or someone can just message me? Rick

Moved your post to its own thread.

That shroud is to prevent blinding oncoming vehicles so I would not remove it. It should be directly in front and center of the bulb. Maybe the aim is off? How's the lens clarity? Maybe it needs some polishing?

I have heard that the headlight assembly internal assemblies do not have the correct reflection set up for LED's and in some cases requires new headlight assemblies. Also, with stock halogen assemblies, the reflection capabilities lose efficiency over time and again, needs new assemblies.

Are you sure the headlight assemblies are aimed correctly?
