I have a 2006 Envoy XL with a 4.2 Inline-6. Looking to do a complete brake job. I found the Brakemotive store on Ebay but am having trouble with the compatibility or, is that a common error on Ebay? The Brakemotive sets I have found are listed as compatible with the original Envoy but not the XL version which I have linked to my Ebay account. Does it matter? I have read some of the FAQs section and found that SLE and SLT's use 11.8" rotors and the Denali uses a 12.78" rotor. I have also found a 3.5 ton Blackhawk floor jack to buy and some jack stands. I noticed some jack stands are weight rated in pairs and not individually or, is that a fallacy? Well, thanks for anyones time who reads this. I'm new and learning a lot from the forums.

The long wheel base trucks with the 4.2, and V8's, both use the larger rotors. The vehicle compatibility function on Ebay, and some other sites can be sketchy. Depends on how well the Ebay seller wants to maintain the information for their postings. As long as you choose a package with that 12.78" rotor, you'll be good to go. The pads are all the same.

As for jack stands, I thought they were always rated in pairs. I've got 2 sets of 3 ton jack stands, and they've been fine for my TB EXT when I need them.

If his are indeed the 12.78 rotors your best bet to make sure you are ordering the right ones would be to search under Brake motive trailblazer SS. Also make sure to get the kit with ceramic pads. Although after some searching I can't locate the the kit with ceramic pads.:compu-punch:

Considering going OEM (AC Delco) since I wussed out on the last kit I bought and returned it. Acquiring the proper caliper bracket is psyching me out.

I've been trying to decipher A1 Cardone interchange part numbers. I saw a YouTube video suggesting going to the dealership (argh) and consulting their parts specialist.

If I get the Trailblazer SS brake kit, I would have to use the same type of brackets, right?

Correct. You need the SS brackets. Most caliper kits come with the brackets so if you choose the V8/SS version, they will be the correct ones. All the calipers and pads are the same, it's just the brackets that are different along with the larger rotors.

But you have an XL so you should already have the correct brackets.
